Appearance Description: Like all Norwegian Forest Cats he is very sturdily built, thick boned and heavy with a profuse coat of long, silky fur. His coloring is that of a black mackerel tabby, which means he has distinctive stripes of black with a gray base color, tainted in creamy gray around his face, chest, belly and hindquarters. A hint of white touches his muzzle and white mittens cover all four paws. The fur fluffs out at the hindquarters, the tail, and especially around his ruff to give him the characteristic Norwegian Forest Cat "mane". His northern breed's origins also give him heavily furnished ears and even paws. His big almond-shaped eyes are marbled in and unusual mix of purple, green, and blue - the odd northern-lights coloring being what gave him his name.
