Winter was just around the corner. Which meant so was her birthday. 1 year. Since the time of her birth she had grown substantially. She nearly stood at her full height of 30 inches. She was still lanky but was slowly filling ouut. Dark gray pelt had lost its puppy fluff, turning into a lush thich coat. Emerald orbs still rimmed in light gray scanned the new territory. She had never ventured so far from home before. But she managed to get away unnoticed. The earth faded from the dying green grasses into frigid hard ice and snow. Cold wind whipped her pelt around, causing the dame to shiver. She was not accustomed to the frigid temperatures found here. Lifting her skull, she inhaled, curious to know what was around her. She didn't want to stumble across another pack. Desdemona had made it clear that they all had to behave. But where was the fun that? Regardless, she had remained careful during her exploration.

Eyes landed, pausing her steps, on a strange looking barrier. It towered over her, blocking her view of what was on the other side. She approached slowly, one paw extending to touch it. Nails stratched the hard surface, but nothing happened. Jumping up on hindlegs, she rested both paws against the cold surface, looking up. She'd never be able to see of the top. Placing all four paws back on the ground once more, her brows furrowed. She walked a few paces along the wall, curiousity getting the better of her. Audits twitched in all directions, listening to the sounds around her. She didn't want to get caught by a stranger so far from home, all by herself. Looking up once more, a bark slipped from inky lips, echoing around her.

Planting her haunches on the earth. She was bored. Perhaps she should have asked Rune or Vixe to come along with her. There wasn't any fun in exploring alone. A sigh fell from her jaws. Little brush surrounded the flat area she resided in, giving her a view of nearly everything around her. Including the approaching wolf. Eyes darted back to the form. She rose to her paws, tucking in her skull to protect her throat should this stranger decide to attack. Ears remained pushed forward for the moment, sense alert to any danger.

OOC- hope you don't mind the little bit of pp at the end :3

The yearling trotted along quite happily. Tail waved back and forth behind him as his nose seemed stuck to the ground as he traveled forward. Everything was so interesting and beckoned for him to explore it. He had to be the most immature and troublesome yearling. Ever. Regardless it was a lot of fun for him to annoy others. His mother was used to it by now and if his sister wasn't accustomed to it anymore she soon would be. They loved him though and he loved them. The inseparable bond they had would not and could not be broken by anyone or anything.

Nothing could satiate the burning desire to explore though. So off the boy went from Glaciem, his new found home, to wander. Paws brought him to a place with an odd looking wall. Nose remained to the ground as he sniffed around, tail waving behind him all the while. Blue eyes flickered here and there up until a scent came to his nose. Ears pricked forward and tail began to move just a tad bit faster at the prospect of seeing a new face.

Oblivious to her defensive position or how she might react to him he approached in a friendly manner. She looked to be possibly a bit younger than him, and she was really pretty! Her markings were interesting and she had pretty eyes. Green ones that were a pretty hue. Did she wanna play? He came to a halt and bowed on his front legs with his rump in the air and tail waving inviting her to play.

"Hiya! My name's Iniko! What's yers?"

The brute would come forward, seeming oblivious to her stance, he approached without a care in the world. Stopping before her, his chest would drop the ground, leaving his rump and wagging tail high in the air. She eyed him carefully, ear pushing forward as he spoke his name. "My name is Maia." Lyrics felling from her lips in sweet tones as they always did. Green eyes drifted over the males odd markings. His pelt was dark like her own, but had almost orange looking markings that covered from his nose all the way down to his tail, each intricately woven. Big blue eyes looked up at her playfully, beckoning her to relax. Slowly she allowed her muscles to do so, tail wagged slowly behind her. Nostrils flared as his scent tickled her nose. He was from a pack, but which pack she wasn't sure. "Where are you from?" She asked with a soft tilt of her dark skull.

She had never met another that was so playful. She and her brothers were the only pups that she knew of back home, leaving them only with each other to play with, which wasn't always fun. She hadn't seen much of her brother lately. Or much of anyone for the matter. Maybe she could befriend this male. A new face never hurt anyone right?

The girl finally relaxed and offered her name then commenced to ask him where he was from. She still seemed different from other pups though. It was depressing sort of, but perhaps if she got used to him she would play with him? He then went on to continue to smile at her wondering if it would help any at all. Tail wagged back and forth. Blue eyes studied her markings. She looked like something familiar, but he couldn't figure out what.

"I'm from Glaciem. What about you? I don't recognize yer scent at all."

She couldn't help it. His smile and eager attitude was contagious. A slow smile spread across her features, her tail beginning to beat a little faster. Glaciem. It didn't sound familiar, but it must have been one of the packs in the area. That made two of them that didn't recognize the scent on the other. He smelled so strange to her. "I'm from Tortuga." Surely he had heard of her pack? It wasn't like Tortuga had been out of picture recently, but was rather all over the place. Or so she assumed with all the Kaien/Morphine/Desdemona/Nnoitra business going on. She still found his enthusiasm strange. Neither of her brothers had acted like this. Sure Vixe had been a handful for momma, but never at this level of excitement. It rolled off him in waves, hard to ignore. She wasn't sure how to react. It was obvious that he wanted to play. But what was playing exactly? She only ever wrestled or played tag with her brothers. Was there more? She wasn't sure.

ooc- no worries, mine is sucks too

Finally! It was about time his friendliness rubbed off on something! She finally smiled back and offered him a faster tail wag. He himself was the same ball of energy, never seeming to run out. He hardly ever got tired, and when he did he passed out for ages, woke up, and was rejuvenated again. He was an odd child, certainly a handful, but he was lovable. Everything about him screamed trouble though. He loved sticking his nose into things and beckoned for mischief.

"Don't ya'll live by that volcano? And whatcha doin all the way out here for? Don't your parents worry? Mine does, but I slipped away!"

He smiled proudly. He'd actually managed to get past Seraphiel and his mother without getting caught! He knew his mother didn't wanna lose anymore children, but he wasn't gonna go anywhere, so it was okay, right? He had no intentions of leaving and he would surely return to Glaciem. He just wanted to make new friends and Maia seemed like a great friend so far.

"You wanna play hide and go seek? Or tag? Or go hunting? I could catch a rabbit!"

The boy did have a never ending stomach. The pit always demanded food. In fact a hunt didn't sound too bad. His stomach growled in agreement with him. He had to think though. He also wanted to play. What a dilemma. Perhaps she would choose for them both?

So he had haerd of Tortuga, and even knew where the pack resided. A brief nod answered his first question. "No, my brothers and I get to do what we want most of the time, and besides, no one knows I'm gone." He seemed so pround of the fact that he slipped away unnoticed by his own parents. She thought she was pretty good at it, especially since it seemed as though her parents aren't even in Tortuga most of the time lately. Not that she minded, she had all the freedom in the world, almost.

His questions were never ending. He seemed to have ideas, but couldn't decide on which one he would prefer. She heard his stomach growl in protest, her own stomach agreeing. "I think a hunt sounds good." She had only eaten back at home and the journey here had been long, she would need to refuel, especially if she ever wanted to make it home. She looked expectantly at the young brute. She wasn't familiar with the area, and didn't know what kind of prey was around, the land seemed vacant of any life. Perhaps he would know?
