Of Fate and Luck
Novella had been feeling much more like herself lately, those darker times seemed to be behind her for now and she focussed upon the happier points, the exciting moments that lay ahead for her and Threar. The first of which would be a welcoming ceremony for Fate and Luck. Such events if they were repeated in the future for other puppies of Threar would hopefully happen far closer to the children's birth though her own condition and the fact that this was a new idea meant it hadn't been possible for her own children. She had encouraged the pack to hunt recently, to gather food for a feast though hadn't included the details of why. Some perhaps assumed it was simply to celebrate her health, she had settled back into her rank as an Author once more after all. Whilst this would be the first event she would call since before her depression had consumed her, today was about her children, not her. Encouraging Frith, Fate and Luck to join her at the pack's usual meeting point, Novella would wait for them to join her before howl ingfor the rest of the pack, inviting them all to gather and with their food for the feast. She had begun a pile with a couple of rabbits that she had caught earlier that morning, what else would the pack bring? |

The pack would begin to gather many of them bringing food to add to the pile and many arising to greet her. In turn she'd greet them all certainly pleased to be in this spot once more, sharing the joy of her recovery with her family. Of course no clue as to what was happening would be given just yet, they'd have to wait for everyone to arrive first of all. As usual, Sorrel arriving was the likely clue that everyone had gathered and as he settled at the back, Novella would officially begin the meeting. "Welcome everyone." She greeted them all warmly, casting her gaze across the pack. It was rather fortunate that Fate and Luck had chosen to settle themselves in front of her, no need to call them forth. "I don't wish to bore you too much so I'll jump right in with why we are all here today. As some of you may know, my recent litter were the first children born in Threar. I'm a little late announcing their birth, and introducing them all to you of course as many of you have met them, but this is a new tradition that I wish to start for any litter born in Threar. So please, welcome to the pack mine and Frith's children; Fate and Luck Destruction." She would glance down at each of the children in turn as she introduced them before looking back up to the rest of the pack. |

The first time celebrating anything like this truth be told even Novella herself wasn't entirely certain what to really expect. It was something to pull the pack together, to truly invite the children as members of the pack and introduce them to the other adults, an extra benefit in the fact that they'd know who was around to help them when they needed it. Of course Fate and Luck had already met many of the members of Threar simply through their own exploring though this was a tradition that typically would occur as the children took their first expeditions outside, that was the plan anyway. The pack certainly seemed to enjoy the festivities, smiles around and cheers let out for the two pups she would cast her glance down to them, joining in the joyful shouts though of course there was a pile of food and a feast awaiting them. Further chatter could happen over dinner. "I see many of you contributed to the feast, the food is waiting so lets tuck in!" Leading the way she would rise from her seat, and make her way to the pile of food to take the first piece and officially begin the feast. |

He'd take a few bites of the meal before him before nuzzling his bloodied maw into his wife's fur. He'd try to catch her gaze as he gave her a little love. This was more than he could have ever asked for and she was the one to thank for everything. "I love you, my dearest. I hope you know how much." He couldn't help the smile that played on his face, she was his world and he never wanted that to change.
Settling down with her family, Novella would look back to her mate with a smile as he gave her a quiet little declaration of love. Had she just brushed any of those off in her broken state in the past season? She certainly hoped not but with some days so hazy there was a fearful possibility lingering within her mind that she may have done. "I have some idea." She responded, leaning into his touch. "I love you too." Her youngest son would break her attention now, gaze flicking to him as he came bounding up with a question. Mismatched eyes looked briefly to the woman that he had mentioned her immediate guesses that it was either Hecate or Frost, apparently the former. "That is Hecate." She responded. "She's a Paperback at the moment so we all have to look after her. She finds it a little difficult being around others sometimes." She chose her words carefully. "Why don't you and Luck go and give her something to eat, help her feel included." Perhaps the fearful woman would find the children easier to speak with and of course it would give them a chance to meet the Paperback if they hadn't seen her before. |
