Going to the festival with Chord was a welcome suprise, seeing Novella again was also pleasant, and seeing the going ons in the festival coupled with the fact that she wanted to introduce Chord to Shaye had brought about the decision to pop back over to Abaven and get the young girl. A day out with her uncle and mother and a festival with family, strangers, healing, spars and so much more sounded like a fantastic idea. Motif escpeially wanted the chance for Shaye to get to know her Uncle. They strolled to the borers of Abaven and howled for Shaye to come to them – it bet tramping all through the terratory in search of her when she could be anywhere. She wasn't likely to be in Imperium, now that they where in agreement for Shaye to go there, there where rules, like Shai escorting her there for example. After howling for Shaye she sat back on her hunches just before the Abaven border and glanced over at Chord with an amused grin. She had been teasing him all day about finding the right present to give to his niece. ""

 

Chord hadn't exactly gone to the festival with a negative opinion though it had in fact somehow ended up being better than he expected. Perhaps it was that little space of time he could pretend that everything was fine and normal, a chance for he and Motif to escape the mess of their siblings relationships right now. He of course didn't want to abandon Rhythm and Bass entirely, he would return to his planning at some point but for now it was far nicer to take his mind off of the drama and look forward to meeting his niece. Though Motif had informed him to be the fun uncle he wished to be he would need to bring lots of good presents for Shaye, the truth was he hadn't actually gotten anything remotely interesting that he could actually give her. There was himself, he hoped that would be enough, and the fact that he and Motif would be taking her to the festival though something told him even if he asked Motif about it she'd point out he had to do better, she'd want an actual gift.

Her mothers howl would distract the young girl from her important work. She would pout as she lost count and one of her subjects would jump from the shore and vanish under the water at the sound of the wolves howl. She glared at the frogs and stuck out her tongue before rising and leaving Monument rapids and making her way quickly through to Serpents plains and then the outskirts where she knew her mothers howl had come from. She wasn't sure where her mother had vanished to, she had been learning about herbs and then her mother had vanished off somewhere. When she arrived at the border she would see her mother, and tilt her head at the stranger beside her. He looked vaguely familiar, through she couldn't place it and he smelled like family. Plus he had eye markings and color similar to Harmony, she could only guess that he was family. “Hey Mamma, whats up? “ she asked. "Burn Baby Burn"

Despire all her teasing Motif didn't really expect for Chord to bring her daughter a gift – she simply enjoyed teasing her brother about it. Well they where arriving at Abaven territory empty handed, she was pretty sure the gift of meeting family and the fun of the festivals would be a fantastic experience for her daughter, a chance to bond with Chord and other family. She grinned at her brother who remained quite as they waited. The wait was a short one before Shaye appeared before them, and she grinned at her daughter. “Hey Sweetie. This is Chord, my brother and your Uncle. We wanted to take you somewhere, on a little adventure, what do you say?” she asked. She was also astonished to realize Shaye was as tall as she was. Her baby girl really was growing up, and just like her father she would grow to be bigger then Motif. "Burn Baby Burn"

To be honest Chord expected further teasing upon the borders whilst they waited for Shaye to appear, perhaps little nudges that it'd be his last chance to make a good impression with a nice gift but Motif was good. She remained quiet and the pair waited in silence for the little girl to appear. Or rather not quite so little. She had been such a frail looking thing when Chord had last laid eyes on her though it was true indeed that Shaye had grown up. He wasn't exactly the greatest judge of gauging pup height but she seemed to be rather tall. Perhaps it was simply because he had been expecting someone quite a bit smaller. "OK. You weren't kidding." He muttered quietly to his sister as the girl approached them, he hadn't been able to believe she was nearly a year old though she was definitely looking pretty grown up now. He would remain quiet for a moment, letting mother and daughter speak first of all. Shockingly she didn't seem too curious about the stranger on the borders, Chord was convinced that there was no way she would be able to remember him. Questioned or not, Motif would introduce him and he'd nod a small greeting her way for now. "Hi Shaye."

Her suspicions would be confirmed as her mother introduced Chord to her. He was her Uncle, that made him the same kind of family Bass and Rhythm where. She loved them both dearly and had no doubt that Chord would easily fall under the same category. She wasn't a shy creature and she had already started prancing forward to greet Chord when Motif's next words registered. She froze in her tracks and turned to her mother, a massive grin on her face. Ever since Rhythm had left things hadn't really been right in Abaven, and she and Motif hadn't seen eye to eye since. Motif hadn't offered to take her on an adventure since all that drama had started. “Awesome! I'm in” she quickly agreed before Motif could change her mind. She unfroze and took the last few steps towards Chord, she would giggle and swipe at his paw, this brute was bigger then here, bigger then her mamma but that didn't stop her from attempting to start a play fight. “Hey Uncle, was the adventure your idea?” she wanted to know – after all, Motif hadn't attempted anything like this in a long while, and the only change in circumstance here was Chord, so maybe this was doing already – clearly he was gona be an awesome uncle. "Burn Baby Burn"

Motif grinned at Chord's quite mutterings, it would be a shock for him, last he saw here she was a newborn, tiny and weak, now she was a giant, taking after her father and easily equal to her mothers height already. She didn't comment past raising her brow at her brother before addressing her little girl. She was pleased with Shaye's reactions, and knew she was too forward to be shy about meeting family. She sat back and let the two get to know each other, not moving until after Shaye had stopped in front of Chord, and only then because of her daughters words. She pretended to swipe at Shaye's ear before settling her paw back on the ground again. “Cheeky little rascal” she told her as she asked if the adventure was Chord's idea, but it was obvious she was only teasing her daughter. "Burn Baby Burn"

There was very little of Motif's appearance within Shaye, though the girl had apparently inherited aspects of her mother's personality instead. There was quite the clear similarity now in her mannerisms and even playful actions; Motif had done worse than attack his paw only a few hours before! He would watch Shaye as she stepped closer, moving his own paw out of the way as her strike came in, a smile clear upon his face. Her question wouldn't get a full response from Motif, instead a playful, teasing insult cast back in the girl's manner. Now he had two options, to say that Shaye was right or admit it wasn't all down to him at all. Technically if anyone got the credit it'd be Novella for organising it all in the first place, though spending time with Shaye was something that Chord should have done a long time ago regardless. "It was indeed." He declared a small grin on his features as he glanced back to his sister. He knew she'd likely try get revenge for it at some point, though she had teased him about gifts for the past few hours and there was no sign of Shaye actually asking for one.

She pouted at her Uncle, who easily maneuvered his paw away from her playful swipe. The pup would then wag her tail and playfully eye Chord, as through debating pouncing him. He might still be a stranger to her, but he was family, he was a Destruction and so far she had found her family to be playful and loving, if also emotional and easily offended. However her attention would be diverted to Motif, who didn't answer her question. Instead, knowing her mother well she playfully ducked beneath the half-assed swipe and stuck her tongue out at her Mother. The two had been at odds a lot lately, especially over Rhythm. Now however, with Motif finally giving her leeway to see her Auntie, things had become good between them again. She knew Rhythm was still a sore spot for her mother through, and respected that even if she wished it was otherwise. Returning her thoughts to happier moments, she grinned at Chord. “Thank you!” she said, some quality time away from home with Motif and her new uncle sounded like an amazing chance to see exciting things and for things to be as good as they had been between her mother and Shaye before the whole Rhythm thing had happened. She pranced closer to Chord, eager to be off. “So where are we going?” she asked him. "Burn Baby Burn"

Far from being annoyed at Chord for taking the credit, instead she gave her brother a wink when Shaye wasn't looking. She wanted the two of them to get along, it was important to her especially now that Shaye got a real chance to know her family and build her own opinion of them. She had realized that with Rhythm as well, that it was her daughters life and choice and Motif had no right to get in the way of that – her own pride and opinion and hurt had stopped her from seeing that for a long time. “Its Chord's secret to tell, not mine!” Motif said after Shaye's question and the girls eyes strayed also Motif's way. She grinned at her daughter, but mostly she grinned at Chord. He had decided to take the reward for this little adventure, well he could take the responsibility too. She had no problems with chucking Chord into the deep end. Besides, when Shaye heard that this was a meeting healers where attending too, that she could learn and maybe even see Rhythm outside of Imp lands – she knew it wouldn't just make Shaye's day, it would make her week, that would build the foundations for a great relationship between Uncle and Niece. Although Shaye had been in trouble for her little comment, it appeared that Chord would escape safely with his own. At least for now it did anyway, he wouldn't get too carried away, Motif could easily get him back at any moment he was certain of it. Her proposed method to begin that however wouldn't phase him at all. He'd happily lead the way for their little adventure. Now it was a matter of deciding whether to leave it as a complete surprise or to reveal all and get Shaye all excited about what lay ahead now. Chord opted more for something along the lines of the latter plan in the end as he began to lead the way back towards the festivities. "It's something rather special." He began though he wasn't finished there. "I've explored lots and I've never come across anything like this. Wolves from all over Alacritia have gathered for it." There was a chance building it all up a little too much though he figured both Motif and Shaye would appreciate it.

She was excited, but now she was really curious too. Her mother seemed to be going at lengths to keep her in the dark, but she was too happy to pout. When prompted she would turn expectantly to Chord to see if he would be any more lenient with this supposed secret. Instead, he would not only deny her the knowledge but he would also flash little tidbits of knowledge before her to further her excitement. As they walked she pranced adoringly by Chord's side, she was like an over grown puppy following after the excitement, and she couldn't help but think something about Chord reminded her of the father she adored. He was a big brute, like her dad, and he seemed sweet as well. Shaye loved her father unconditionally, it was her mother she found the hardest to get along with, and often they where butting heads and never seeing eye to eye. “We should hurry and get there first if all the wolves wanna see it!” Shaye couldn't help but point out. "Burn Baby Burn"

After metaphorically throwing Chord into the fire, Motif let her brother take the lead. She let herself fall to the background, content to admire the relationship growing between two important people in her life. She loved to see Shaye so excited and happy, especially remembering that not that long ago she had angry and upset with Motif. Making peace with Rhythm – in her heart, if not actually to the girl yet – was something she did almost entirely for Shaye, even through as she did so she began to realize how much she needed it herself. She listened to the two of them talk, of Chord winding up her daughter with exciting words and promises, and Motif couldn't help but shake her head amused. At least she knew Shaye would love what was to come, she loved people and healing and Rhythm, and all of these things would be at the festival no doubt. Motif said nothing as she kept time with Chord on his other side to Shaye. "Burn Baby Burn"

Shaye would soak in the unhelpful descriptions, eager to get going and easily falling into place at his side, Motif falling in on the other. With the urgency in her tone, so eager to get there Chord was half surprised that she didn't attempt to run ahead and drag them both with her, but then of course she wasn't actually sure were she was going anyway. "I'm afraid there are already lots of wolves there." Chord explained, trying to slow her down a little, there really wasn't such a need to run there. "But don't worry, it'll still be just as fun, maybe even better with them all there." It wouldn't be much of a festival after all if no wolves turned up.

Her hope to be the first to the prize would quickly be dashed as Chord explained that many wolves where already there. She pretended to pout at her Uncle, through that cleared when he began to explain it would be even better with all the other wolves there. Well, perhaps she could reign in her competitive streak for the moment, at least in terms of getting there ahead of the crowd. She was really curious about where they where going and what would be there when they arrived. She started to attempt a few mental guesses, and let her imagination go crazy. She had heard of falling stars and, well, honestly her imagination seemed to be falling short of guesses. What could it be that they wanted to show her? That a crowd would be a pro not a con... maybe it was a competition of some sort! Her brow furrowed, and her pace fell easily into step with Chord, despite his larger and longer legs and she didn't speak as she let herself think. Well, she didn't speak much “How far are we going Uncle Chord?” "Burn Baby Burn"

The walk to Threar wasn't a long one, and she knew Shaye would have her answers soon. In the mean time she allowed Chord to dangle tidbits in front of her daughter and held back her laughter at Shaye's impatience and excitement. It was so nice to see Shaye acting like the child she still was, instead of delving into the adult realm in her attempts to see and hold a relationship with her Aunt and Mentor Rhythm. “Yeah Chord, are we there yet?” Motif teased her brother as Shaye questioned the distance between themselves and their destination. "Burn Baby Burn"

In the end it seemed that his teasing little comments had got to Shaye, Chord could hear the cogs in her brain whirring away, face crinkling with concentration as the answer clearly evaded her. Now would have been the time to put that mind to ease, give her the answer or at the very least another clue of sorts though apparently Uncle Chord had a bit of a mischievous or mean streak choosing to let her suffer in silence for a little longer. It wouldn't be long before she'd see for herself anyway, they were travelling relatively swiftly and the journey wasn't a long one. Giving up on the where they were going she would choose instead to question how far away they were going. Motif joined in with a slightly more childish and potentially far more annoying version of the same question. Chord took it all in his stride however, the cheery smile remaining on his features as he ignored his sister's question and instead turned to his niece to answer her directly instead. "It's not far now." He informed her. It wouldn't be too long at all now before the young forest came into view and the crowd gathered within it.
