The festival was coming to an end with the spars finished and hunts completed. With her belly satisfied and team cooperation skills hopefully improved, she saw no further use of herself being at the centre of the excitement. It was awfully loud too, which was why she had snuck out for a peaceful moment away from the festivities. Everyone else was at the festival held outside of the pack leaving empty territory for her to enjoy. Since she was so accustomed to her small tight-knit family, many different packs of strangers was almost too much for her comfort and liking. Although it was something she'd have to work on improving if her parents wished to have more large events in the future, alone time was sometimes useful as well, especially on a hectic day like this.

Earlier, she had hoped to more personally meet the newest addition to Threar. She was curious to know how he was settling in and if he had any goals for the future, as she herself was a rather scholarly youth. There was also the possibility of finding out more information about Glaciem, only if he was up for a conversation including that particular topic. However, she didn't interact much with wolves other than family. She was starting to develop a faint friendship between herself and Frost, but that was as far as she had delved with unrelated wolves. Majority of the pack was family and although kin was important, it was about time she socialised with other wolves. It wasn't that she was shy or timid, in fact, she was boldly the opposite. It felt different interacting with strangers, but perhaps she was mentally exaggerating it all too far.

The bay had been missed, and finally, she had decided to make the trek down to the shore. Now that the blustering gales had wrapped themselves over the coast, humid summer days were nothing more than a mere memory in her mind. Why she had chosen to visit such a location on a frigid day remained a mystery in her mind. The infinite ocean was a rather engaging sight, especially during the early and late hours of the day. If she lingered for long enough, perhaps she could seize a front row seat for the spectacular closing of the day. Crisp breezes almost refreshingly snapped and tugged at her alabaster fur as her paws trotted further down to the shore. Upon contact on the moist sand, a sudden ripple of cold shuddered through her ankles as she began her long and comfortable strides to wear off the annoying sensation and to allow her body to gradually warm up. She kept her distance from the jerking waters; that was out of the question. They were pleasant to watch, although the waves looked greatly disrupted as they nauseatingly churned upon their crashing arrival on the shore. She'd begin the early afternoon with a smooth walk alongside the thin water to as far as the sand stretched. It'd be a bonus if she ironically encountered the new Prologue while on her walk, but if not, there was always time for a border check back at the falls and a light search through the area. Perhaps he hadn't ventured as far as the bay, or remained back at the festival. Either way, there was more time for herself.

Walk | Talk | Think

A little time had passed since the ex-Glaciem boy had become part of Threar's pack and he still could not get used to the place, though likely it was from a lack of trying. Everything felt awkward, everywhere felt strange, and everyone was regarded with a wary sort of curiosity. These wolves were his new pack now, and deep down Miksa did want to get to know them and become friends, but being thrown into the new setting so quickly had stolen his nerve and silenced his voice. Instead of making himself a socially inept problem for someone he ended up keeping to himself and choosing to settle in on his own. No sense putting anyone else out just because he was taking a while learning how to feel comfortable here.

The air was so different here too. It smelled of salt and sand, of even more strange things that Miksa had never experienced, and only just recently he had started to come down to the bay to sit and take it all in. Here he got a small taste of the life he had left behind in the chilling air that rolled in along with the waves, and the feel of it rustling his white coat left him with a case of homesickness. But this is home now, he thought, attempting to argue with his feelings, we don't have a home there anymore. And besides, even after everything he had done, he had not truly made Glaciem the home it had the potential to be. Perhaps it was only the memory of what could have been that haunted him so.

It was impossible to hear the other approach over the sound of the surf, nor could he detect her scent against the thick and heavy smells of the shoreline. Thankfully this was a safe place, a pack territory with borders to keep away the unruly and unkind, so he felt privileged in being able to sit there upon the sands and stare without worry at the waves. Miksa rolled his shoulders slightly, just a little movement to feel a little warmth, and because he had broken his concentrating stare he glanced around absentmindedly, promptly doing a double take the moment his yellow eyes alighted on the young Destruction girl who had gone with her father to Glaciem. He said nothing, but his curious gaze remained on her, wondering what it was she was doing out here when it seemed that everyone else was busy elsewhere.

Coincidently, the very wolf who she had hoped to meet was fortunately within her vicinity. She was looking forward to her longer walk down to the falls, however, it all had to shoved aside now that her current plan had changed. It took her a while longer to notice his presence, perhaps a few moments after his own sighting. The distinct scent of salt boldly wavered through the air, which was probably why she had failed to identify his scent any sooner. After turning her head, her gaze found the male a short distance away, who remained silent with his position unchanged. He seemed a little shy, but she would be too if she had discovered her home to be gone and joined a strange new one instead. It had to be difficult, she was aware of that. However, her mind was set on greeting him more personally and welcoming him further. Secretly, the thought of talking to someone other than family now happened to excite her. She wanted to make him feel right at home by telling him all about the pack from the laws to the learning opportunities. Of course, these feelings remained hidden in her mind.

She approached the other individual in a brisk trot, carrying herself further off course from the designated invisible path she had planned to travel across. She tossed her head back briefly to take advantage of the cool breezes before returning her gaze to the male. "Hello, I hope I'm not bothering you," She would hate to introduce herself and attempt to engage in an interesting conversation to learn that he already had plans of his own. It wasn't likely he had any jobs or duties to fulfil, seeing as he had recently joined, but it was mere courtesy for her to ask anyway. "I don't think we've formally met yet. I'm Varda." She offered a small smile upon her warm and lively expression as she articulately finished with her name. Normally, she never began with introductions but since he had provided his own name back in the north a while ago, she felt the need to start with an introduction. She couldn't remember if her father had introduced her and brother or not. It all seemed so long ago, yet here she was now, welcoming the newest addition to Threar.

Walk | Talk | Think

The boy's yellow gaze stayed fixed upon the young Destruction girl as she spotted him and began walking his way. He wondered if it could have possibly only been coincidental or if she might really have been heading toward him intentionally, though Miksa could think of no reason for her to seek him out. Maybe his lack of any real effort toward settling in had finally been noticed and he was going to be called down on it? Oh, he really hoped not. He wanted to make a good impression here, even if he felt intimidated by the whole process, and earning a bad mark right off the bat was not going to look good.

He glanced away at the last moment, trying to tell himself that it was because it felt like he was staring when really he was just more nervous now given the particular train of thought he had. Miksa's eyes stared pointedly out at the waves while his ears turned to angle back against his head, and it took Varda actually speaking to him once she was closer for him to acknowledge her again. With a little of his nervousness shining through, his eyes sought hers and stayed there as she politely greeted him. Was her question a ploy to get him to admit to not pulling his weight? Was she hinting he should have been somewhere else actively helping the pack out instead of just trying to stay out from underfoot? "No," he answered, a little more quickly than he had intended, "you're not...bothering me." He hoped he was not bothering her either, or any of the other Threar wolves for that matter.

The girl's friendly manner was welcome, despite the boy's worries, and eased a bit of his wariness. It reminded him somewhat of his previous pack leader, always bubbly and optimistic and kind. He might not have been very close with her, but he still missed Odette and her pack and all the potential that had been there. Would it have been anything like what this Threar was now? "Miksa," he responded with a formal dip of his head, his expression still unsmiling though he was beginning to think he was not in trouble after all. Was Varda only here to see how he was doing, just to check on him? Was it of her own free will and not because someone had asked it of her? He was full of questions, full of speculations, but none of it he spoke. Instead he remained quiet, listening, figuring she had something she wanted or needed to tell him since she had sought him out and leaving her the opening to do so.

It was relieving to know that she hadn't interrupted anything and wasn't making a nuisance of herself, acknowledging his response with a satisfied nod. While she had intentionally sought him out, it was for a different reason compared to what the male perceived. She simply wanted to welcome him and get to know him a bit better as he was the first new addition to the pack she was aware of. Although her parents hadn't directly told her to, it was normal for to independently use her initiative. It wasn't like she was creating a negative impact upon the pack, in fact, she was certain the male could benefit from her knowledge. Besides, how embarrassing would it be for her parents to instruct her to socialise with someone new?

The girl noticed his slight anxiousness and the way he didn't return the smile. Maybe she was just expecting too much from him, or maybe he was the one expecting something. Was she the first member of Threar to formally welcome him and seek out an acquaintanceship? She hoped not; where were her family's manners? Perhaps he was a little lost with this new life he had recently started and had been waiting all this time for someone to step in for guidance. To be honest, with all events and festivities buzzing across the lands, it was difficult for her to remember all of her responsibilities. No, she harshly told herself silently. Forgetting was no excuse for not welcoming the male any sooner. A nervous yet guilty gulp inaudibly shoved its way down her throat. What if he had already made an unfriendly impression upon her because of this? Then it seemed she would have to make up for what she had lost in the current conversation she prepared to engage in.

"How are you settling in?" Although usually she was the one to eagerly chat throughout most of the conversation, she hoped the male would be the one to take that today. If she was the first the welcome him, then she assumed he would have a few unanswered questions for her to answer. Depending on what he asked about, it could help to familiarise him with Threar's customs and roles. It would be a rather self-centring discussion if she was to boast about her family and pack, which would surely bring an unpleasant impression upon her. However, there were a few questions she was looking forward to asking herself, that is, if she got down to asking them.

Walk | Talk | Think

He was unable yet to shake the nervousness he felt, the dread that he had done something wrong or was failing to settle into the pack fast enough for his new leaders' likes. It filled his mind with things that he should have been doing, like leaving this quiet place and seeking out others from the pack, or searching the territory again either along the borders to ensure their security or within for something to offer as a meal in thanks for his place here. Something, at least, to show he had an interest in staying and would work toward earning his keep. They each ghosted through his mind in the form of if only wishes, assuming if he had done at least one of them he would feel better about the present conversation. But at the time being he had nothing to offer in return for Threar's hospitality.

Miksa's yellow eyes were still wary as they regarded the daughter of his pack leaders, studying her delicate expression and the unique markings that encircled her mismatched eyes. It was not the type of face he would have expected to deal out punishments or warnings of any sort, and neither did it. The whole look about her was still friendly, welcoming, gently trying to draw him in, and at first he was resistant. Setting aside his fears and doubts was a difficult thing, even when he knew the other party was not aware of it or pushing for it, and the initial answer he made reflected it. "Okay," he stated simply, clarifying, "I'm settling in okay." "Okay" in his eyes felt somewhat like an overstatement; he felt lost and alone and homesick all at once.

Keeping it all to himself, however, proved to be more challenging than even settling in, and in a guilty confession the mostly white wolf dropped his gaze and muttered more quietly, "It's...kind of hard though." He felt the urge to fidget and did, shuffling his weight between his forelimbs, as he considered how his words might reflect his opinion of the pack. If he was finding trouble settling it, it could have been interpreted to mean he did not like Threar, or even those in it. His tan ears began to turn, half splaying to either side over the top of his head as his nervous eyes once again shot to Varda to see how she had taken his statement, even as he hastily added, "I mean...hard for me." Would lessen any sting? Would it explain well enough what he meant? Rarely could he find the right words to express himself, and this just proved to be another one of those situations. Helplessly he fell silent, hoping he had made sense and not offended the kindness of the pack who had taken him in so freely.

His response was simple, perhaps too simple. Maybe she should've asked more questions to get a better understanding of where he was at, however, too many questions seemed merely obnoxious. He was settling in okay, which wasn't quite assuring to the girl. Briefly, her eyes narrowed in disbelief, studying his expression with a perplexed demeanour. Surely adjusting into a new lifestyle was harder than she presumed. She would have stuck with his "okay" if he had said it with some form of optimism. Now, she was convinced there was more to his "okay" than what he had presented and verbalised before her. Was there something he wasn't notifying her of? Did he not trust her? She could be trusted; when had she ever lied? Well, she still was kind of a stranger to him, but that was too quick of him to have made such a judgement.

Before she opened her lips to clarify his response, his voice dropped in volume as he muttered what seemed to be a confession. There was a difference between "okay" and "hard", which meant he really did lie. However, that was the least of her concerns, in fact, she didn't care about it. Although she had earlier wanted some clarification for his previous response, now that she knew the honest truth of how he was settling, she wasn't even sure how she could help. She had never dealt with such a tricky emotion, and with every passing moment she felt like she was making it worse for him.

"I understand," she slowly expressed with a sombre tone whilst nodding firmly, her features tight with uncertainty as her mind gradually thought of a response. It wasn't exactly her field of expertise, especially with her lack of experience in joining a new pack. However, she did consider herself an expert on Threar, so if the male was finding anything complicated with the pack, she would most likely have some advice to exchange. Yet the question remained in her mind; did she really understand his emotions and experiences? Perhaps not entirely, but she was trying to nonetheless. It wouldn't be reassuring to him if she was to speak with entire honesty. "Is there anything I can do to make it easier?" Now that he had replied stating the difficulty of his position, she felt obligated to help, or at least ensure something went smoother for him. Again, he hadn't spoken all that clearly, which left her wondering; was there anything in particular that was making his move hard? Hopefully her question would be answered and she would be able to find a suitable solution to the problem. Life in Threar wasn't supposed to be difficult, at least that was what she believed according to her own knowledge. Challenging, yes, but not in a stressful or depressing way.

Walk | Talk | Think

It was really hard for him to determine whether he had offended  the girl with his answer or not. The tightness of her expression and the curt nod did not give enough away to him, though Miksa supposed that could have been answer enough. It was not a smile like the one she had offered previously, nor was it quite so friendly. Maybe he had messed up. His ears, which were splayed, properly pulled themselves back in disappointment. He was sure making a mess of all of this. Some great asset to the pack he was being, even though he had known from the start he was far from any level of expertise to consider himself killed at anything that might help these kind wolves of Threar. I really need to change that, if I can, he thought, sighing quietly to himself, now more than ever.

Because of the turn of his thoughts, he was not expecting Varda's offers of assistance and only stared at her a moment in surprise. Help? He had not been offered that before, no even by Odette, who had been the single leader that he had taken to out of the packs he had so far been a part of. He blinked slowly, his yellow eyes still unsure, but her kindness, which seemed to him unwarranted after so little effort put in on his part, was too generous for him to completely dismiss without a thought. If she was going to offer to make things easier for him, then he needed to be polite and really ask something that mattered.

But what? What was it that he wanted to know the most? Put on the spot, he struggled to make up his mind. How many pack members were there in total? Was there any particular field they needed help in most? Was there anything she could teach him to make him feel useful here? "I'm...I'm not sure," he answered truthfully, dropping his gaze as he gave it further consideration. "I don't know where to start," Miksa confessed. He felt especially useless having to say all of this aloud, having to admit to his shortcomings. But maybe if he did admit them he would be able to figure out where to go from there? "I'm just homesick, I guess." He laughed, a short, sad, self-deprecating sort of sound with a half smile that quickly faded. Why did it have to be so hard just settling in?

All the while, she was having a difficult time determining her future actions. It seemed she had interfered too personally into his honest thoughts, or he simply wasn't comfortable exchanging such details. She had to be making it worse for him, what else? A part of her didn't want to continue the conversation any further in the fear of upsetting or offending his emotions. It wasn't easy openly talking about feelings, especially with a recently-met stranger. Perhaps she was pressuring him to unwillingly reply; maybe it would have been best if she had just left the subject alone. But how was she to know that this was all troubling him?

Homesickness. Just as she had presumed, it was homesickness that was weighing him down. She wanted to understand his emotions, and she was diligently trying to. The closest she had been to feeling homesick was when her family had to evacuate further inland to escape the merciless storm that had precariously swept across the coast. The most distinct emotions she could recall was fright and excitement with a faint twist of bitterly missing her home, but that was where her story turned into a different path compared to his. At the end of the season she returned back home; damaged but it was still home. She got what she wanted back; he on the other hand wasn't as fortunate. Glaciem wasn't coming back any time soon, that was certain.

It would be insolent of her to abruptly abandon the discussion, and so she would attempt to keep the mood hopeful and light, avoiding the depressing demeanour that had seemed to befell the male. "I'm afraid I can't cure homesickness," a sigh escaped her lips as she shook her head, gaze fallen to her paws. Why did it feel like it was all her fault? "However, I can give some suggestions if you don't know where to begin." She looked up once more with faint confidence glowing in her smiling expression. Something positive had to come out of their encounter, or else it would have been for nothing. If only she could spread the optimism.

Walk | Talk | Think

Though he knew the girl could do nothing for his homesickness, it was still no less discouraging to hear. It felt like such a hopeless thing, something that was out of his hands with no way to go about fixing it. Was there even anything that could be done for it to make it go away faster? Considering how strongly it hung around him, Miksa doubted it would be easy and was becoming more or less resigned to dealing with it for a time. For now there was really no telling how long that would be, or how severely the feeling might be during that time.

It was not all hopelessness and dismay, however. Varda surprisingly had some suggestions she was holding, suggestions that she wanted to offer him if he was willing to hear her out. He had not anticipated the news, and likely it showed as his yellow eyes met hers, but he was so desperate to fit in that he did not even think twice. He wanted very much to hear anything that she had to say that might help, very eager to finally set aside his sadness in order to do something nice for the pack that had taken him in. He needed to repay their kindness back in kind, and that meant pulling his weight.

"What do you suggest?" Miksa asked quietly, attentively listening for her answer. Any help was better than what he had been doing on his own, and he hoped whatever advice Varda could give might be enough to help him make that first step toward productivity.

For a moment, she felt as if she had let him down. If she could do something about the homesick feeling, she would have done that by now. Perhaps the best way of dealing with it was to make a start with the new life, instead of dawdling upon the old one. Then again, what did she know? Easy for her to say; she wasn't the one experiencing it. And yet, he still asked for her suggestions, despite the forlorn emotion had taken the reins of his mood. In a way, she saw it as a little bit of bravery, which brought a brief smile to her expression. He was making an effort to beat the homesick feeling and to start his new life; perhaps he would make an excellent addition to the pack. With that being said, it was crucial that she spoke with all honesty.

"To begin with, Threar is a scholarly pack, meaning we encourage learning and create a peaceful environment to do so." For some reason, it felt like her mother's eyes were boring down on her skull, watching and listening to every word she spoke. It wasn't like she was lying about the pack, in fact, she was being fairly honest. Though what she spoke was true, she couldn't help the uncomfortable feeling restlessly churning inside of her. Maybe this was the wrong way of going about this. Perhaps she should have checked with her parents, or better yet, let them handle the issue. There was no possibility of her backing down now, and so she could only hope that what she suggested would have been what the Authors would say in her place. "Prologues, like you and I, are urged to attend every lesson, however, it's recommend that you pick a field to advance your studies in." Alright, now she was referring to more or less herself. Her father had once told her to have goals and ambitions for the future, which meant picking a field to specialise in, even though her brother was yet to reach her. With a tilt of her head, she paused before inquiring inquisitively, "Is there a field you excel in?"

All the words just flowed eloquently from her lips, so many of them that the thought never crossed her mind that she may be overwhelming him with information. It was a natural habit - speaking with quantity and quality. She was so passionate about learning and always yearned to explain about the pack that it never occurred to her that she was speaking to a rather quiet and homesick wolf. Perhaps it would have been more suitable of her to have taken it small steps at a time.

Walk | Talk | Think

The quiet boy listened as Varda began to explain, informing him of the scholarly ways of Threar and their emphasis on learning as much as they could. It was strange to him since every pack encounter he had experience required a choice in discipline to be made right from the start, but here everything sounded as if it would be fair game if he chose for it to be that way. Maybe that will take the pressure off, Miksa wondered as he reflected on his hope that he might excel at fighting, as his mother had. He had no proof to back up his hope - if anything, his meek manners probably spoke against it - but it did not stop him from wishing it so.

She asked him directly where his own strengths resided, and a little sheepishly his tan ears made a slight tuck. "I...I don't know," the yellow-eyed boy answered, embarrassed, wishing he could have provided a known proficiency for her but knowing that if he did he would have been lying. He opted instead for honesty. "I've always wanted to try fighting. My mother was really good at it." He had to have some of that prowess in him somewhere, right? A well of untapped potential just waiting to be realized. Or so he hoped. He glanced across at the friendly and kind Destruction girl, searching her face for any sort of positivism regarding what he had said.

Fighting - she never had the chance to try it out, but then again, when had the opportunity ever arose? From his response, he didn't seem to have already gathered a sufficient amount of knowledge in his chosen field, however, he seemed determined nonetheless. For a while as a pup she too had no idea as to how to start her adulthood, when her true skills were sitting unnoticed right in front of her nose the whole time. "Mine's hunting," she brightly remarked with a small smile tugging at her features, hoping that he could learn a little about herself as opposed to only sharing his own information. Hunting was the main activity the pack always held throughout her short lifetime, not so much with the other two. No wonder that was the field that she excelled in and based her goals around.

Now, onto her advice. She didn't need to prescribe him with a life's worth of tasks and goals, did she? Just something to bring him motivation and eventually eliminate the homesick feeling. "Attending fight training is a good start," the girl exchanged with a satisfied nod, avoiding her usual rambles to ensure she didn't bombard him with too much information. When lessons other than hunting occur. she mentally snorted, teeth digging into her tongue to stop herself from verbalising the thought. Where was her enthusiasm? Of course she wanted to see the male progress in his fighting, therefore, she had to have a bit of faith in her parents. Hopefully they'd get down to organising a session; not everyone desired to be hunter, or else her words would be nothing but a promise. "Do you have any goals in fighting?" Perhaps that was a little too far; he hadn't even started yet. Oh, she just couldn't control her curiosity.

Walk | Talk | Think

It was a relief that Varda was so friendly and willing to talk. Miksa struggled for even the most basic of things to say, and had he been left on his own during the conversation he likely would have said nothing and let them both sit in silence. But her prompting and questions were proving to draw him out, slowly but surely, and he was glad that he had been able to at least tell someone of his personal goal, even if she was not in a position to do anything about it. Hers, as she put it, was hunting, and the boy nodded his head in a sort of quiet acknowledgement. Hunting was good, necessary even. But even so his mind was not swayed away from his own personal decision.

The first suggestion she had for him was attending fight training. It sounded straight forward enough. If he was going to learn anything about fighting then training for it sounded like a good place to start. Only, as far as he knew, there had been no training started that he could jump into, and being still so unfamiliar with the place Miksa was not sure who it was that he should ask, though neither did he really feel brave enough about approaching someone about it. He still considered himself to be a sub par applicant for fighting and defending Threar, and he hated the thought of those same sentiments being agreed upon should he bring it up.

Still, he nodded again, telling himself that, should any training turn up in the future, he would attend and do his best. It was the least he could do. As for goals, he did not know how to remotely answer. The answers that first came to mind - to at least try it, to make himself useful to the pack, to push himself and do better than what he had been doing - all sounded either too silly or too personal for him to say. Embarrassment colored his face as he averted his bright eyes, and to hide the truth of it he answered, "I'm not sure yet."

She had fallen under the impression that she wasn't exchanging enough advice, perhaps because of the lack of response he was returning. Unable to read his emotions other than a vague nod that could mean many feelings, she secretly yearned for him to speak a little more often. Did he understand her? Well, there was only one way to uncover the answer: see him putting her advice into action. What if he didn't? Surely her advice had satisfied his needs, after all, he had agreed to listen. "However, additional practice and training will definitely help you with pack lessons," she added optimistically, determined to pry as much knowledge from her mind as possible. Attending training - rather simple and unenlightening, but everything started from the beginning, especially since it seemed he was inexperienced in the field. After her thoughts battled over her final decision, she decided not to verbalise her questions in the fear of sounding overly demanding. If he chose to ignore her help, she really wouldn't mind; after all, it wasn't her own education she was risking falling behind in.

Just as she had presumed, the male hadn't thought much about his goals, or wasn't entirely sure about them. Had she gone too far? Perhaps it would have been best if she had just explained the basics, instead of stressing the quiet soul about academical planning. No, she firmly told herself. Goals were important; how else would anyone find the motivation to continue their learning? Even small objectives work, unlike the heavy ambitions the knowledge-driven girl desired to accomplish herself. "What about attending training?" she gently prompted with a tilt of her head. "That can be a goal; it doesn't have to be big."

Walk | Talk | Think

Though the whole conversation was a tad awkward for him, Miksa was grateful for the concern and time taken by his packmate. Not really in either of the places that he had lived before - though he held no resentment toward either for it - had he been approached just to see how he was settling in, what he planned to do with himself in the pack, until he arrived here. Varda might only have been a peer of his, not one of the influential ranking individuals, but it was still more than he was used to. He was used to keeping his thoughts to himself, his goals internalized, and giving them voice, to have those thoughts and hopes possibly judged by others made him nervous.

But she only wanted to help; he could tell that very obviously. Even when he said so little, she still sought to keep the conversation going, trying to help him find the words that so easily evaded him as well as those that he simply lacked the nerve to speak. She helped him again as she clarified her own definition of goals, explaining that they did not have to be big in nature or even the final hoped-for result. Something small to start out with would have worked just as well, and with the advice Miksa felt some of his worry abate. Starting small and working his way up sounded so much less intimidating, especially since he still worried where his skills might have resided. "Training," he repeated, at first thoughtfully but with more conviction, "training is a good start." A little optimism entered his voice as he stared across at Varda, the vague semblance of a smile almost turning up the corners of his mouth. Training. He could do this.

The thought had never crossed her mind that her current actions were probably better off done by someone more experienced than herself. In fact, she hadn't asked her parents if it would be an appropriate choice, instead just leaving it for a quick surprise in the hopes that she would be showered with the usual praise of approval. What was she? A lowly amateur Prologue with only one mission to quench her thirst for learning. All that did run through her mind were mainly positives, such as how she had used her initiative and was saving the Authors time by not completing the task themselves, as they were rather preoccupied individuals. She just wanted to help; what so harmful about that? There was definitely something she had left out along the sentences of her information that someone more experienced would have added, however, it wouldn't contribute much of a difference, would it?

After she heard his words, which were a faintly optimistic repetition of her own suggestion, she felt an odd vibe that she was forcing the goal, and advice, onto him. They were just mere guidelines, and of course it would be different if he was to encounter one of her parents. However, the positive smile upon his expression was what reassured the girl, and she returned it with light enthusiasm. "Then I guess that's all you need to worry about, not that you should be worried at all," she finished off her advice with a brief and almost nervous chuckle, hoping he wouldn't interpret her statement literally. After all, she didn't want to consume him in great amounts of advice as it would really be the cause of his stress. Although education was supposed to be approached in a headstrong manner, it could also be delved through in a relaxed manner. "Do you have any questions? I'm happy to answer." Not that she was expecting an inquiry, as he had seemed rather timid throughout their conversation. Nevertheless, it was polite to ask anyway.
