(Set before the hunt) It was useless to say that Voltage was anything but nervous. It was all new territory for him, not so much the trip...as soon as they passed Mount Volkan he could make the journey with his eyes closed. It wasn't an overly dangerous journey, hopefully the spring runoff hadn't made the connection from the mainland to the island too rough...no. He had made this journey times before, but he was never alone. Never. Voltage had always had Glacier at his side, had his siblings at his heels (even when they were seperated, he felt like they were so close). No, in his short life he had never truley been away from him. His paws twitched as he sat there, awake far too early to be coincidence. Well, he hadn't actually spelt, his racing mind and beating heart never let him. He had spent most of the night curled up beside Glacier, the evening talking to Astrea, a few hours sitting in the storm proof den listening to Serefina's breathing and staring at the tattoo along her shoulder, who's twin marred his own. He had spent hours pacing infront of the dens, checking every few minutes to make sure everyone was accounted for and breathing. The only one he spent little time with seemed to be Gaia, and perhaps that wasn't the best thing to do, but he was too restless, too nervous. What if something happened while he was gone...what if Glacier decided he wanted to scare away another puma? What if the ocean suddenly rose with the spring runoff and everyone was trapped in the dens. His brows were forever knit as he worried and worried and worried...and yet, he also seemed detached from his thoughts as he sat there, watching the sun rise on the horizon. It was his own fault, his own decision. He could have been selfish and asked Glacier to come with him, but they couldn't leave the pack behind. He couldn't dare ask Glacier away from the budding relationship he was finally tending too. Voltage could have also decided he didn't care about the recent litter, if there even was one. He had never met the pups, he hadn't even seen them when they went to collect the youngest of their siblings. It was quite possible he was leaving them all for nothing. And anger welled up inside him at that thought. Anger at himself for being unable to let even strangers stay behind on the island, let them fend for themselves as parents who never loved them just abandoned them. Anger that he even had to leave in the first place. It wasn't their fault their parents...well, rather sucked. But even as the anger welled, swelled inside of him, and then washed away like the ocean wave, he knew that he was being silly. Reguardless of his parents, and how much he rather hated them, he could never leave potential siblings behind. Which was why he was leaving in the first place. With a deep sigh he looked behind him, staring at the dens at his back as he sat atop his favorite stone. The sun had risen enough, it was about the time he wanted to venture out, to make good progress before he and Gaia would have to rest. With Glacier they could walk untill their feet bled, because no one would dare try to come near them with Glacier's size and Voltage's...rather electric appearance. They were a duo that, upon first glance, could be feared. But he and Gaia, he had more than his own hide to protect, and who knew the savage creatures that could be out there. So they would walk during daylight, and rest at night. With a gentle sigh he fidgetted, looking back towards the ocean as it pulled and pushed against the shore, so steadily, so naturally. It would do this while he was gone, and would continue untill he returned. Everything would be fine. Everyone knew their place, everyone had their part to play in the perfect machine that was their family. If there was a flood, Locha would know what to do. Glacier would handle a puma and know to call on Serefina or Solaris....everything would be fine. So, after watching the sunrise for another minute or so, feeling the calm of the morning spread over him, he would toss his head back and sing, call for his beloved siblings and those that meant the world to him. He'd call for Gaia, to join him at his side while they finally ventured off...away from the ones who he vowed never to leave. But only for a little while.. "Burn Baby Burn" |

The gentle sound of the ocean and the early calls of the sea birds were slowly bringing Gaia into wakefulness, but as Volt's voice was heard over the caves the girl found herself pulling into complete wakefulness. While she knew it was morning by cues that were far from visual it still felt like the night had taken its time to dissipate. She'd gotten used to having Volt beside her, he was an amazing comfort that she hadn't realized she'd gotten so used to until he wasn't there. Freewing was a wretched snuggler, he would always wind up between her shoulder blades where she couldn't hold on to him. It had been a long night and she was eager to leave the warm den. Her lithe frame would slip from the entrance after she'd purposefully disturbed her companion suddenly. That had earned her an angry chirp but she'd already forgotten about him and was headed towards Voltage. Her expression was unusually cheery. She was unsure if that was because she'd be getting Volt all to herself for the rest of the season or if she was trying to be extra supportive on the day they had to depart. It was probably a mix of the two. Her silver form made its way over the beach and to Volt's side as Freewing swooped down to land on the Alpha's head. "Good morning, handsome." She'd whisper as she buried her features into his neck. "Are you sure you're ready?" "Burn Baby Burn" |

Glacier would never miss his brothers send off. He had given the boy a suprise party, a night together where they spoke their concerns and hopes but it still didn't feel like enough. Had he done everything he could to show Voltage how he loved his brother? How he needed him to come back to them soon and in one piece. As he made his way towards Volt, where he and Gaia waited for their moment to take off into the coming day he was hit by it all, and suddenly, and was forced to stop and take in a deep breath. Glacier had never had an anxiety attack before, not once in his life. He was always the calm and reasonable one to Voltage's mood swings, but as he looked at Voltage in the distance, ready to leave them for a season he found suddenly he couldn't breath. In the distance like this, Voltage looked even smaller then he remembered. He looked so willowy and small, so fragile like a strong wind might break him or take him away. How was Voltage going to survive out there alone, with just little Gaia to watch his back? He needed Glacier, needed his size and steady thoughts, just as Glacier needed Voltage, he could already see his world going grey without the energy and life Voltage brought to it. He steadied himself, drew in a deep breath that at last sated his lungs and smoothed over his reflection, hiding away his uncertainty and fears before going on again to Voltage, until his brother was before him and he was grinning at the boy, all emotions locked tightly away in a little box in Glacier's heart until the Titan was numb. He clapped Voltage roughly on the shoulder and grinned at his brother. “Don't forget to treat this like a holiday, sight see, enjoy life a little. Its not every day you get a break from all your siblings” he joked. "Burn Baby Burn" |

Voltage would turn the moment he felt Freewing land upon his skull, knowing that where Freewing was, there was Gaia. Gentle, emotion filled eyes landed upon his little love, and he'd smile so warmly. He may be leaving home for a time, but he would take a piece of it with him, his new home..with her. It was like he could have it all, his family and his world, his love and his gaia. With a gentle sigh he'd welcome her embrace, smiling at her eager happiness. He knew some of his family (namely Glacier) had put on a face for him, because they knew Voltage felt so strongly that he didn't need to be reminded of his turmoil. So there was a sad feeling of happiness around the pack, the surprise party that was happy but...there was a reason it was being held, after all. But here, with Gaia's smile, he could almost feel it's authenticity. With a small breath he'd push his nose into her fur and pull her closer to him. "Morning, beautiful." He'd whisper in his deep tones, smiling so warmly. They'd have mornings like this soon, every day in fact, where they were alone without the responsibility of packlife breathing down his neck. There was excitement along with the sadness, something he felt conflicted about. "I'm all packed and ready to go." He said with a small smile, though he had nothing to take, that'd be a hassel. "Sadly, I could only had enough room for half my pretty rocks..." He said with a laugh. Lifting his head he'd smile down at her before glancing behind them, wondering where his siblings were. He was about to venture off...alone, for the first time in his life, and it seemed no one was there to see him off. Ears would slip back as he let out a near-silent sigh before pushing his nose back into Gaia's fur, breathing in her warmth and scent. It was then that he heard the tell tale footsteps of one of his siblings behind him. With a small smile he'd lift his head again and turn to see Glacier. Brows would furrow just slightly as he moved to step towards him, just as Glacier would move again towards the pair. He hadn't missed the slight emotion that crossed Glacier's face, but he had been too far away to really see it. So with a sad smile he'd step towards his big brother, the one he had never been without. He felt his brother's paw clap against his shoulder, and he laughed softly. "Don't forget to have a little fun, hey Glace?" He said with a gentle smile. "And check in on Sere once in a while, hey? I like to lay with her a few hours every morning." His hybernating sister...he sighed. "And watch the stars with Astrea...and dunk Locha in the ocean every so often...and hunt for flowers with Terrae..." He trailed off, his eyes slowly lowering to the sand. "K-keep our den w-warm...I'll be back soon..." He whispered softly, fidgetting his paws in the sand before he lifted his gaze again. "If I don't make it, Big Brother, tell Sere to keep her mitts off my pretty rock collection..." He said with a small laugh. It was something he had once said in jest, when they were exploring the packlands...and now it had some reality to it. There was a chance things could happen while he was gone, there was a chance...and that was terrifying. He'd smile softly before he lifted a paw, pulling Glacier to meet his forehead. Stormy eyes would stare up into his brother's as he smiled so warmly, brows furrowed and ears back. "We will be together again, real soon, Big Brother.." He whispered, his voice pitched, his eyes stinging before he snapped them closed, lowered his head again as the threatened tears began to fall in silence. He would push himself, then, into his brother's fur, tried to soak in all the warmth and comfort and hope...hope that he would be able to do this again, soon. "Burn Baby Burn" |

Anyone with a heart could feel the emotions between the two brothers as they faced each other and said good by glacier typically attempted to put on a good face and show none of his worry to his brother. To do any less would only invite voltage to worry in turn and it would be like telling his strong, sweet voltage that he couldn't handle himself which Glacier knew was far from the truth. It was just that Glacier didn't want him to have to handle himself alone. Voltage also would put on on a face, through both easily knew what the other feeling, so much si that their brave frontiers could almost be amusing to an outsider to watch. Voltage would go through a sibling check list and glacier would laugh gently, like he would need a reminder to love his family - but he knew it was things his brother needed to say, and Glacier would easily soothe that worry. "I'll catch the wind with Gale, I'll kick Locha's ass at fishing, I'll gain a few scratches so Terrae can practice healing" he winked easily on that one, knowing his promise to truly be careful was still going strong. "In fact, i'll stick my nose in the fire often enough to gain my scratches that way - then everyone wins.. but me" he said, smiling sadly as he leaned forward to nuzzle his brother gently. "I promise you, if you don't come back I'll hand it to her myself" glacier warned, his voice a little less joking. Losing voltage wasn't something he could ever take lightly, not even in jest. Voltage pulled Glacier's head to rest against the smaller one of his brother and the titan took in a deep breath, memorizing the scent of him, and closed his eyes to cherish the moment. They where where a sappy duo, of that there was no doubt. "Come back to me voltage, otherwise i can't promise I won't tear this world apart to find you again" he whispered.. "Burn Baby Burn" |

Walk | Talk | Think Deep down, she knew it was coming, had known all along even if she had not been allowing herself to think about it. Her brothers were responsible, always looking out for their siblings, which included those who they barely knew. And those they had never met. It came as no surprise to her that Voltage was going to make the trip back to their island home, though it did make the air-affiliated sister worry for him. Voltage always wore his heart on his sleeve, and he had left nothing to be guessed about how he felt about their lot in life. She feared the trip hurting him somehow, seeing him as more fragile despite his obvious strength, but Gale had not tried to talk him out of it. As resolute as the thunderstorms that he hated so much, she doubted anything she would have said would have made a difference. So, instead of trying it, she came prepared and made sure she was ready to send her brother off on his trip back to their island, doing her best to keep her worries well hidden behind a smile. It sat perfectly crafted upon her face, a clear mimicry of the ones that came so naturally to her, but its fault came in that it did not reach her eyes. She approached her brothers and the little Dove on light, airy lavender paws, quiet as she did not want to entirely interrupt the moment both Elementas boys were having. It nearly drew tears to her eyes to see them so, but she blinked them away, reminding herself she was not going to spoil this departure. Someone else could do that. She tried once more to settle her smile in place and wagged her wispy tail, finally entering in to the small gathering. In the back of her mind, she hoped the rest of their siblings would show, or at least hoped that they had already said their goodbyes beforehand. With Glacier and Voltage still offering their parting words, Gale sidled over to Gaia instead, glad that her lackluster smile would go unnoticed by her. "Hey, Dove," she greeted her quietly, offering the nickname she had fashioned for her. She hoped Gaia did not mind it; she rather thought it fitting. "I hope you guys have a wonderful trip. I'll be looking forward to hearing all about it." They had not even left, and she wanted them back already. Turning her grey-green gaze back on her brothers, she finally decided to interrupt them. "Hey, save some goodbyes for the rest of us," she complained, grinning as she said the words. The expression still did not quite touch her eyes, but at least her voice had sounded as teasing as ever. |

The light had just begun creeping over the horizon and the vixen had turned in for the night, pressed close to her twin; the moon always following her sun. It could have been only a few minutes after she had closed her eyes and softly drifted off to sleep that Voltage called out for them. The moon goddess groaned and rolled onto her back, nose crinkling and eyes scrunching closed. Finally with a huff the girl flipped onto her stomach and rose to her paws, drowsily pawing at her twin. "Sol come on, Volt is leaving-" her words were cut off by a yawn and she settled back on her haunches and yawned again. Finally she rose to standing again and left the den, she was going to see her brother off with or without her twin, though of course she hoped he was right behind her… mostly because she was struggling to keep her eyes open and she wanted nothing more than to lean on his frame and close her eyes. Finally she stumbled towards the small group a tired smile spreading across her lips. "Yes, don’t hog all the sentiment." She teased settling herself close to Gale, tail brushing against the earth. |

Voltage counted the seconds, held himself close to his brother's warmth. There was only so much time left, and then he'd be gone for weeks. Weeks, more time than he had ever spent away from his siblings, away from Glacier. With a sniffle he'd nod at his brother's promises and his threat, trying to keep strong amongst the tidal wave of his emotions. Voltage would come back, he was resiliant, he was tactful, he knew where to put his paws....sometimes, with reminding. And Gaia would be with him, with Freewing there aswell. The ever watchful eyes of the bird managed to keep his little cloud from bopping into trees, surely he could keep Voltage from walking off a cliff. So with a gentle sigh with he'd pull away, lifting his eyes slowly to gaze up at Glacier. "I promise, Glace, I'll make sure we all come home in one piece." His voice was strained just slightly but it held that strength he was known for, that odd optimism despite his fear. This wasn't just about him, there could be siblings out there that they needed to rescue. That's what this was about. He blinked when he heard his the gentle voices of his quiet sisters, and he'd quickly turn his head. With a smile he'd pull fully from Glacier's warmth, inclining his head just slightly. "Come give your big brother a hug." He said with a grin, stepping forward to welcome them into his warmth. He wished others had shown up, and it was getting too late to really wait...they would have to leave soon. First he'd pull Gale into his embrace, nuzzling into her warmth (if she'd allow it of course). "I send you my love on the wind every time I feel the breeze." He said softly. "Make sure Glacier doesn't become too overwhelmed. With Serefina out of commission someone has to make sure the big fluff ball doesn't overheat." He said with a grin, planting a kiss upon his little sister's cheek before he'd turn to Selini and repeat the process, pulling her into his soft fur and nuzzling close. "Don't sleep every day away, and see to it that someone is there to watch the stars with your sister, alright?" He said with a gentle smile, placing a kiss upon her cheek as well. "I'll watch the moon every night, Seli, so don't ever feel alone..." He whispered softly before he'd pull away and step towards Gaia, pushing his nose into the fur that lined her neck. "I guess...everyone is too busy.." He said softly, the hurt resonating in his voice as he turned to his siblings. "Tell them, when I return I'm gonna barbeque their butts for not saying goodbye." He'd say with his big toothy grin, looking at his two sisters before his big brother. Brows would furrow before he nodded, turning his attention back to Gaia. "Now's a good time as any, huh? Freewing? Wanna show us the way to the mountain?" He said with a smile, he knew how to get there in his sleep from there. "Burn Baby Burn" |
