Into The Fire

Enigma traveled with the dark woman for some time, making their way from the Northern parts of the lands to the South. They seemed to move nonstop, though only stopping to hunt, find water, and sleep when the moon was high. Never in his dreams did he think he'd be on such a journey, but it was a journey he was all for. Not only did it win him a potential ally now and for the future, but when they found what they were looking for, he'd get to wet his throat with blood and not have to deal with repercussions later. A gleam came into his amber stare, the boy leading the way towards a copse of trees not too far. It seemed like the perfect place to start, after all. It was dark, the forest appeared desolate and gloomy. Why wouldn't murderers and bandits and thieves hide there? Although he could be wrong as well, for now he supposed they would look around. Gather information, or whatever it was she wanted to do. "There's a forest up ahead, we could start there if you like. Or move on somewhere else."

He followed her for a good part of the day. The pair sniffing around where they walked, though their search appeared to be fruitless so far. Amber gaze bore through the fog where he could, the dense fog seemingly masking most scents. He had detected a rabbit here and there, but he wasn't all that hungry. And he hadn't asked Takira for she seemed concentrated on her task as well. It was only after the sun had crossed to the other side of their path that she'd stop, agitated.
He stared at her for a moment before glancing around. Thoughts crossing his mind. He wasn't sure of what their targets smelled like, though he was sure that if they came across any she would know. "Well, this forest isn't small. So we may need to cover a wider area. However, splitting up may not be a good idea considering the fog is masking most of the scents." His tail flicked in irritation, maybe this wasn't a good place to start with all the fog, but it definitely seemed like a good hiding place for the types she was looking for. "We need information...do you know of anyone who might know the fools who dared fall in your bad graces?" |

Takira set her rump down on the damp ground the fire lightly spilling from her veins, ice replacing the blaze. She sighed as N went on to tell her that sticking together was the best option, which she full heatedly agreed with. The forest was thick and the fog made it even more confusing. If they where to part Kira knew they would not find one another again, no here at least; where the sense of smell was at a great loss. "I agree that we should stay together." Takira nodded the cold making her calm. She watched the fog roll by her, her deep amber eyes slowly closing as her body became tired. Why was she out here anyway? Did she think that two bastard wolves who attacked her family for no reason would hide out near the scene of the crime? No, why would they? The came, killed, and left; their laughter in the air, like nothing, like they did not stop her life forever. Creating the monster that now lived in the fire in her soul. And when N went on to ask if she knew anything the monster reared its ugly and violent head. She lashed up, her face twisting and the ice now gone replaced with lava. "If I knew that do you think I would be in this situation if I did!" She growled the anger seeming to light up her eyes. She growled as she turned from him to the forest in front of them. She then proceeded to moved to the closest tree then proceeded to thrash at it with her claws. This was the first time in Takira's life where she was unable to control her anger, she blamed it on the monster that now lived in her, but really she had always had a hot anger. But the anger has been quicker to heat in recent time; the death of her mother more than likely the 'cause. She continued like that until the ice crawled over the lava of the monster and calm returned. She did not turn back to N, she only looked at the bark that now littered the ground around her. "If I knew where they where or who they where they would be dead." |
