It had been quite sometime since Rin had been here. This was the last place he could remember being after his departure. To get away from the life that had fallen on his miserable shoulders. He wondered if his family was still around, the boy not having scented them at all as he passed through his old pack lands. It seemed as if they had disappeared, their scents no longer around. He had wandered into his old den, where he and his brother and his mother had lived. He felt like a ghost there, everything he had known, gone. He had even gone to the place where his brother and sister Irune had played in their snow den, the memory of their pact seemed like a distant memory, a dream that would never be reached. Sadness welled up inside him, his childhood had been mixed up. He was loved by his mother, his brother, his sister. On the other hand, his Father had seemed to ignore him. The boy only wanting to grow up in admiration of his father, but that ceased to exist fairly quickly.

He came to the pool of water where he last remembered seeing his mother. His heart ached for her, for the love that he'd probably never get back. Was she doing well? Was she happy without him? What about Kyung? Did he hate him for leaving? Rin had made a promise to always stay by his families side, but he had failed in that promise. He had to get away, to figure out his purpose in life. And the longer he had been away, the more he missed his brother and his mom. He only had one family in this life, and he felt ashamed for having left them behind without so much as a whisper.

Rin sighed, seating himself by the pool of water and staring into its crystalline depths. He could see his own reflection, defeated, sad, miserable...hurt. Could he ever face them if they crossed each others path? He had so much doubt, so much fear...he was afraid they would hate him. Reject him the way Isardis had rejected him. The night sky filled with stars, some seemed to be blinking out one by one as if they too, were abandoning him. What had he come to? The decision he had made to leave was by far one of the hardest, and he only hoped that his family would welcome him...though he knew that would be a far-fetched idea.

He was a shell, driven to continue marching only by instinct. He wasn’t about to go jumping off any cliffs right now; been there, done that. No instead he continued on his death march, perhaps even worse than his self-imposed prison from earlier…   At least then when he had been starving himself he hadn’t been forcing himself to move too much, now he was running on his last legs. Each step was slow and shaky.

He passed through territories new and old alike with a cold numbness, ebony gaze passed over structures and wolves alike with a blank unfeeling stare. He had no destination, no goal just motion, always motion.

He had not gone north though… he still couldn’t face it. Couldn’t bring himself to look at the lands that had once been his home. They were more of a hell now, taunting him with all he had lost, all he had been forced to lose.

Well the endless marching was going to end today one way or another… though Kyung was unaware of that. A scent he had long thought forgotten assaulted his senses and for the first time in a while the melanistic boy stopped. His gaze flashed to his right and despite himself the fur along his spine rose up, lips curled back and a growl clawed its way out of his throat.

How dare he show up now!

His soul seemed to hurt with each moment that passed. And suddenly, a heart stopping sound would be heard to his left. The male froze in his place. Afraid that whatever he had just heard was in his imagination. As if the moment he dared look in that direction, it would disappear. Then, the scent hit him hard, like a baseball hit him in the gut. Ever so slowly, he turned toward the direction of the growl. His breath caught in his throat. His stomach clenched, eyes growing wide and the air around him seemed to grow silent. The only sound ringing in his ears was the growl that had been sounded previously.

Translucent green eyes fell on the dark figure that was unmistakable. There was no way he would ever not know who this was. He was the only creature that lived in this land that bore the pitch black coat that haunted Rin's dreams night after night. Without thinking, he took a step towards him. Wanting so badly to believe that he was real. That he wasn't a ghost nor a figment of his imagination. He needed to know. The scent and the sound, he wasn't sure if it was true or if it was a trick of his mind. Step by step, he drew closer. His saddened and disbelieving eyes never leaving his brothers ghost. If this was truly him...why did he have a looked that seemed to spell out hatred? Or maybe Rin himself was feeling so guilty, so pained, that he was imagining all of this. "K-Kyung? I-is that really you?" He breathed, the male now only feet away.

His brother would spin around and the growling would grow stronger, ears pulling back and tail rising high over his rump, a dominant display towards his estranged brother… and more than that: aggressive. His litter mate took a step towards him and Kyung jerked back the growl growing louder still. Still the earthen boy moved towards him and Kyung planted his paws unwilling to run, to back down. They were too close, much much too close.

Rin would speak and the growling would stop, his expression growing hard. It wasn’t a stupid question… not really. Kyung was certain he didn’t look like himself, emaciated and unkempt but he could stop the cool remark that sprung to his lips. “Good to see you still remember who I am.” It was a barb, meant to hurl into his brother’s flesh and twist; a blunt instrument of his anger towards the wolf he had once seen as his brother.

His audits laid back against his skull, the boy remaining still with one paw in the air midstep. His eyes grew wide as his brother had continued to growl at him, the sound growing louder as he had gotten closer. So he'd stop where he stood. His breath hitched in his throat, eyes going over the image of his brother, a little clearer then previously. He was a ghost of his former self...in a way, they both were. Rin thought that he would find his brother in his prime, but...it seemed that was not the case. He swallowed, the boy recoiling at his brothers harsh words. He had never forgotten his brother, never forgotten his family...was this one of the curses for having left? To be forever hated by his blood brother? Rin couldn't imagine any pain worse then what his heart felt now...or perhaps there was. And that was if Rin's mother hated him just as much. If not more.

He swallowed back the pain that threatened to choke him. his heart threatening to break through his chest. "I...I never..." What was he to say? That he had never forgotten? His brother wouldn't believe that even if it was true. Tears threatened to break the boy. He wasn't as strong as he thought he could be in this moment, but then again...had he ever truly been strong at all? "I...never forgot." He'd keep his eyes shut as he stared at the ground.
