Frith didn't often make his way outside of the lands he so obsessively patrolled, deer didn't realize what borders were however. The Author had found an abandoned faun within Threar's lands, and he couldn't convince himself to let it go to the next wolf that might find it wandering around. It was doomed, and it was better he kept the creature within Threar as lunch for his pregnant wife. So he found himself in the not so redbud forest. It was beginning to be the end of spring, and the trees had more leaves than buds. He didn't have much time to stop and smell the flowers, his quarry was obviously wearing out, and he would soon have a prize to return to his family with.

She'd wandered through the Eastern lands quite a bit since learning of her sister's location. She didn't want to join a pack, but she wanted to be close. She worried about Kalliope probably a lot more than she ought to. Her sister was perfectly capable of taking care of herself, and she was sure her father and mother did plenty of worrying enough for the whole family. The Moria girl simply couldn't help it. Trying to shrug off the thoughts of peril that might befall her sister and think more about where her own next meal was coming.
The infant forest was an interesting place, there were a lot of birds and large mammals that lingered here. She'd seen more than a couple moose, but wouldn't dare think about tangling with one of them. She thought she was saved when she saw the running faun. She didn't know where it came from only that it was super tired. An easy meal for sure. Aiming as precisely as she could the girl would seek collision with the creature. She had to be quick to dodge all the tiny tree trunks, but with much less effort than Frith had put in Neith would take down his kill.

Right before his eyes she would take it. From out of nowhere a dark form would tackle his catch, bringing it to the ground mere moments before he could pounce on the thing. He wasn't nearly as tired as it was, but if he needed to fight her off of it he wasn't sure his stamina would be up for it. With a deep growl the chocolate alpha wouldn't hesitate to approach, hackles raising as he came to stand over her smaller form. "That is mine." He'd lower his stance, knees bending and his head lowering so he could look her in the face as she suffocated the small deer. He was surprised at the intensity of the purple gaze he'd receive in return. For a long moment he could have sworn he was looking at a Destruction. Was she offended that he hadn't recognized her?
Fooled the Author would relax himself, confusion evident on his features. At that very moment the young she wolf would bolt. She was already three strides away from him when he comprehended her treachery, and with another growl he wouldn't hesitate to run after her, hoping she didn't realize his recent endeavor. His breath had been even enough, and weariness hadn't yet shown up. He'd really have to put the pressure on if he was going to catch her though. "Hey, Stop!" Was all he'd get out as he trailed behind her.

What she hadn't expected was what had been chasing after it to so quickly catch up. Suddenly above her was a dark figure with fire and ice gaze, completely infuriated and quite ready to attack her for her trespass. She would have said 'bring it on' if her mouth were not full of deer calf, she certainly hadn't expected his expression to suddenly change when she gave him her best, 'after this thing is dead i'm gonna fight you look.' He dropped his guard and that was all it took, Neith was gone.
She didn't look back and she didn't stop when he called after her. The dark girl would navigate the forest expertly, her thin form easily slipping through the thin branches. Then, the deer kicked at her. With an audible 'oof' she'd get kneed in the stomach and the chest as the very much still alive faun made one last attempt at freedom. She was almost astounded at its will to live. Or would have been if the blows hadn't sent her to the ground.
The creature was expelled from her mouth, and tried desperately to recover its footing and run off. Once again though, the jaws of death would close around his throat as Frith took back his prize.

He couldn't believe that she was getting away from him, Frith would put on a burst of speed as he attempted to catch her. As the seconds ticked by though it was less and less likely that he'd take back the little morsel to Threar. He hadn't factored in the faun's say. Obviously she'd done a shoddy job of finally putting it down, because she'd get a harsh kick from beneath her. Frith was surprised she didn't get her guts spilled everywhere. It did bring her to the ground, and as she unintentionally released his kill Frith didn't hesitate in taking it back. Though it scrambled for its freedom Frith would bite down hard on the back of its neck, quickly causing its demise.
He'd look back down to the girl, still writhing but likely she only had the wind knocked from her. "Mine." He'd growl once more through the carcass in his jaws. With out another look at her he'd turn to go back to Threar, no good kill stealing loner.

She could only watch as he skillfully took the life of the deer, she'd have to work on that one. Gasping for breath as she watched her meal fall to someone else she'd slowly recover enough that by the time he reiterated the fact that this was indeed his, she could speak. LIfting herself to her front paws she'd be the one to try and stop him. "Hey wait!" Her words were a bit weaker than she would have liked. "Can i have like a leg.. or something?" It was a long shot, but at this point she'd spent a bit of energy trying to take that things, it was going to be even harder to grab a meal next time because of her newly forming bruises. Would he show her a little compassion, surely he couldn't eat all of that on his own. She'd watch him curiously, praying that he stopped.

He'd already turned when her voice reached him, the desperation very much loud and clear. He'd pause, sighing heavily through the fur that was still clenched in his jaws. She wasn't too much older than his eldest children surely, and he knew how rough it could be out on your own. Cursing himself he'd turn around and drop his kill. "One leg." That was generous enough right? "Try not to steal anymore? Be generous, and it'll come back around to you." Being the father he was Frith couldn't help but add in his own little life lesson as she tore off one of the shoulders. He made sure to stand on one leg himself, not finding it in him to trust her completely. Fire and ice gaze never left her for a second, and he hoped she very well knew it.

He stopped! Thank everything that was holy he stopped. She'd brighten slightly, not wanting him to see how relieved she was before he turned around and dropped his kill. Of course he kept a tight hold of it even as he offered some to her, of course she wouldn't be able to get away with dashing off again. It was better to get a little bit than fail again and not get anything. He'd try to give her some life lesson bull, he almost sounded like Fintan. Staying quiet instead of incriminating herself further she would greedily dissect his kill, looking longing at the rest of it as she stood with her prize. With out even giving him a thank you Neith really would dash off this time, running as fast as she could away from him she'd go find a nice quiet spot to gorge herself.
