Let's settle this like men!

A forced gulp slithered down his throat, sweat beadily forming on his forehead. Throughout the whole morning he had been pacing endless laps of the borders, deciding whether or not to call the Azat. The former leader wasn't around anymore, so there went his chance of developing a friendly relationship with him. Allen - he knew him, or sort of did. The youth had seen him at meetings and trainings, as well as once participating in a pack (or not so much of one) hunt. What's the worse that could happen? Embarrassing himself and discovering that he's way behind with his fighting come to mind, but it was for the best. All he had to do was call for him and ask him a couple questions - that's all. Then why did it feel like such a burden?
Finding a secluded clearing within the expanse of trees, he hesitated and let out a small whimper. Confidence - where had it gone? Summoning up as much courage as he could, he repositioned his ebony paws so they stood firm on the soil. Tilting his head back, he tried to call out the loudest, deepest and most poised howl he could encourage himself to do. He was about to talk with an adult, therefore he had to act like one despite his young age. There he awaited the leader's arrival, shoving the stressful thoughts out of his mind and mentally reciting his planned words. Change was coming; and he was going to improve.
