Tally it up

Vitality was bored, which was never a good thing for her to be. She did not like being bored, she did not like having nothing to do Having nothing to do meant you were forced to think, and she didn't much like where her thoughts went sometimes when there were no distractions. So she laid on her back, paws folded against her chest and stared up, up at the canopy of leaves above her head. A sigh slipped from her young lips as she watched a leaf break from the trees above and slowly float to the ground, imagining the delicate fingers of the wind helping it fall to the earth. Golden eyes were almost dazed as she watched, mouth partially open before it settled beside her head. She slowly rolled her skull to gaze at it, staring at nothing. Goodness, was she bored and her mind always wandered when she was bored. Vitality was a year old now. That meant she had things she ought to do, right? She hummed lightly as she stretched her paws high in the sky, as if she could reach far enough to touch the leaves in the distance. Wraith probably knew what he wanted to do, right? The greatest honour a Diamachi could receive is having their name remembered forever, so what would she be remembered for? The dreamy eyed little sister of the great and powerful Wraith. Her eyes traced patterns in the ceiling of the sky, patterns that only she could see as she imagined her brother, grown and strong, giving the Clan everything they could ever hope for. What would she be doing then? Searching for bunnies in the clouds? With a sigh she slowly rolled onto her side, earth fur full of leaves as she stared at the distance, at the darkness that surrounded her. What did she want to do anyways. She didn't know. One thing she knew for certain: it was no fun being bored. "Burn Baby Burn" |

Wraith Diamachi |
Vitality may not have realized it, but the brother in mention had been laying within the shadows of the solemn oak trees, just... watching over her. He'd lain on his belly, his chin resting upon his crossed paws, for some time as she'd rolled around. He'd been dozing a bit when her sigh caught his attention, and his red eyes opened and his ears pricked toward her. Coming slowly to his feet in a motion like a hunting cat, he eased towards her. "Tally?" he spoke up questioningly, and gently brushed off some of the leaf-litter from her back. He'd thought she was just daydreaming, as Vitality was wont to do, but that sigh sounded almost... sad. Or anxious? He had a hard time reading that sort of thing sometimes. But he could tell that something was on her mind. "Is there something wrong?"

She was staring quite adamantly at her paw, nails flexing and unflexing in the earth as she sighed again. Suddenly her brother's voice spoke up and she practically jumped, her eyes so wide as she quickly twisted her head around to gaze at him. Blinking once, twice, she laughed gently as he brushed the leaves off her back. She was often surprised by reality when she was caught in her daydreams or thoughts, but usually she knew somewhat where her brother was....sometimes, right? She shook her head slightly before suddenly rolling onto her paws. Taking a moment she squared her forelegs and shook her fur of most of the leaves and dirt that usually littered her earthen colors. Stumbling slightly she laughed and settled onto her rump to look at him, thinking over his question. What was wrong? "Heya Wraithy" She said instead, greeting him with a grin, shifting forward to try and bop her nose with his, a laugh upon her lips. "Why would you think something is wrong?" But oh, Tally pretty much failed at lying. Instead she glanced around, distracted by the shadows as she thought, recalled what had put a damper on her mood before she sighed again. "Just...I don't know. I really don't know what i want to do, you know? How to be...like, valuable to the clan? Should I learn herbology, should I learn defense and combat? I don't know...what I want to do." She shifted then, pawing at the grass beneath her toes, her eyes staring pointedly down at the earth. "Aside...from helping you, of course." She wanted more than anything to help Wraith achieve his aspirations, but was that all she was supposed to do in life? Be a boost, a stepping stone so her brother could do great things? Maybe it was selfish, but she wanted to do some good things too. "Burn Baby Burn" |

Wraith Diamachi |
Tally bopped him in the nose, which Wraith accepted stoically, and tried to act like nothing was wrong. Wraith wasn't buying it. He fixed her with a 'look', which she didn't even notice because she was Vitality and had gotten immediately distracted, but she did relent, releasing a torrent of words. "You can do anything you set your mind to, Tally," he told her stoutly, nudging his muzzle at her cheek gently. "Don't let anyone tell you different or try to stick you into some neat little box. You are free to do anything. Labels don't mean anything. Labels don't get you into stories. It's who you are that gets you remembered. And who you are is the shiny, dreamy little elf-light that makes the world that much brighter for the Diamachi. Anything else you choose to do is just icing." Quite the pretty little speech for Wraith, but this was his sister. He sought to curve his neck over hers to draw her close in a hug and thought a moment. "You could be a storyteller?"
