His mother was a fighter, through and through, and it was something that the male hoped that he took after. This was apparently the place to test your skill, and the male felt that he was as ready. For today, anyone would do - so long as they had the capacity to finish the fight. He honestly hoped that he was up against someone at least somewhat experienced, but he digressed, someone young with a bit of fire in them wouldn't be a bad opponent either.

The male would lift his head and give a short call, asking for anyone brave enough in the area to take him on in a friendly spar. He wouldn't be going easy on whoever showed up, but he knew the rules to a test of skill. No maims, no permanent damage, it was over when one of them yielded. It probably wouldn't last nearly long enough for him, but they were supposed to come in spurts, right? Half of the challenge was properly expending his energy, knowing when to use brute force and when to meet his opponent half way to see how much they're willing to give.

He would wait, his tail level with his spine and his toes digging into the ground in anticipation. Defenses were already starting to slide into place, but the wolves here in this land were far too kind - he doubted he would be rushed from behind or taken by surprise. It was simply out of self preservation for the future that he did so.

There had been a feeling, an itch if you will, in the ocean girl’s paws that led her to the blood-stained lands of time where she would look for an opponent. Her dark blue wave eyes focused in on her particular target that day, though she hoped for a ‘peaceful’ spar meaning nothing like maims or claims or any of the things she detested so much. Her eyes would narrow in her ivory mask as she looked at her opponent, speaking only once to make her presence known before she set to work with her attacks and defenses. “Spar.” Without another word or warning, she would rush forward, her teeth bared as her neck scrunched up to protect itself and lowered to level her head with the rest of her body. Like a serpent she dropped her center of gravity by widening her gait only slightly. She remained light on her feet, knees bent to give her an even lower center of gravity. Her hackles were raised as well as her haunches as she let out a fierce snarl, the light cyan fur on her back bristling as she got into her zone.  Her claws ready to be used as a defense if she found she needed them, her toes splayed as she ran. Her tail was level with her spine though it lashed from side to side. Later, she hoped she could brag to Lark and Tinaro about beating the wolf in front of her to a fight. She would try to rush at him before diverting to the left, aiming to hook her right paw around his left leg, redistributing her weight as she moved in for the attempt while also intending to land a bite down on his left shoulder at the same time. She hoped to create some kind of shock or intimidation, but she wasn’t a fool. She knew that he had come here to fight and so had he. CALYPSEI vs. VIVEK for SPAR round ONE of TWO

The wolf that showed up was nothing like Vivek expected. He could definitely get behind a woman her size. And that color! Hot damn, he would have to work a bit to focus wouldn't he? If he wasn't so dead set on fighting he would take a moment to tell the female just how pretty a lupine she was - but he was here to satiate his lust for blood, not sex.

The brute would get only a moment before the girl launched herself into the fight anyways, and that would be all he needed to prepare himself. She rushed forward, and he would brace himself for impact, defenses rolling into place. Ears back, eyes narrowed, and a smirk on dark kissers would quickly raise into a defensive snarl. His shoulders would roll forward, creating a layer of protective fat around his neck. Hackles were raised as he pushed himself toward the woman coming at him, making him look even bigger than he already was and protect his neck. It was noted that she seemed to match him in girth, if not have a couple inches on him and a bit of mass. Back legs were squared as he rushed forward, his weight evenly balanced. He would leap at her, angled to his own right as they quickly closed the distance, attempting to slam their chests together and hopefully throw her off balance with the force of their two bodies colliding. His front legs would leave the ground in his leap hoping to 'hug' the female around her shoulders, his left leg sought to land on the woman's  right shoulder and hopefully hold with both brute force and with his claws, and the right would hopefully find the other's neck above her left shoulder near her hackles. The muscles in his back legs would tighten, squared, with his toes digging into the ground for traction, an attempt to hold the brute in place during his risky attack. The male's tail would lash from left to right, balancing himself best he could.

Her bite to his left shoulder would do quite a bit of damage, and as her teeth sunk in around a quarter of an inch, and he would bleed from the wound. The sudden pain was a sharp adrenaline rush, and finally Vivek felt like he was truly fighting. It felt natural to the red beast, it felt more right than he had in ages. The brute would retaliate while aiming his open jaws at the left side of the woman's neck. Teeth sought the flesh just behind her left ear, and attempted to gain a grip on the larger wolf.

Calypsei had only done a brief once-over of the man to get a feel for what she could use to her advantage, but she felt a bit of satisfaction when she felt blood well around her teeth, noting that she had successfully landed her bite to his left shoulder, and it had gone deep enough to draw the crimson liquid that would soon become her livelihood. She felt a slam into her chest, causing her to quickly dive her claws into the ground to hold onto her balance. Calypsei would find herself turning, her left shoulder facing him. As his front paws left the ground and found their way onto her back. She would smirk as she went to push up on her front paws to send her back into the air, hoping that she could throw him off in the process (counter) while also attempting to side rush him by quick stepping towards her left side to further run him down. He attempted to grab at her neck so she would quickly move to try and slam the top of her head into the space below his jaw to avoid the attack and hopefully deal some damage in the process (counter). She kept her defenses the same as she had running into the fight. Her tail was level with her spine though it was still lashing, her neck scrunched as much as it could with her attempted attack to below his jaw as it could be with her movement, her ears pinned against her skull to create less of a mass for him to attack. Her knees were still somewhat bent to give her a lower center of gravity and her hackles and her haunches were raised. She had a fierce expression to her, her eyes narrowed and her teeth in the form of a snarl. She could already begin to feel the moderate bruising to her chest and a slight ache on her back from his paws. CALYPSEI vs. VIVEK for SPAR round TWO of TWO
