And I Don't Want The World To See Me

The sun had risen past the mountain peaks, it's rays slowly reaching through the entrance to the cabin. The young boy stirred as he felt the warmth seep into his fur, causing him to blink his eyes open as he yawned. Though he would see nothing, his world entirely enveloped in darkness. He didn't know what the world around him looked like, what his parents and his siblings looked like. He quietly listened to their voices from the moment he could hear, the boy not speaking at all even as the others squabbled and laughed. Perhaps it was because he had been the one thrown into darkness, lost in a world that he would never get to see it's beauty. He was envious as his brothers grew excited about the sun and the moon, the sky and the stars and the entire world around him. He wished so badly to see what he was missing, to see what others saw. He didn't even know if his parents knew that he was blind, or if they just thought he was slow and dumb.
He curled up even more as he heard the others stirring, pressing himself closer to his mother and pressed his head into the warmth of her fur. Unseeing eyes seemingly watching as his other two siblings bounded out of the den, ears twitching as he heard their footfalls upon the strange sounding structure they called home. When all became silent again, he remained quiet for a long while, and then "Momma?" His voice was barely above a whisper, but almost as inaudible as a mumble as he nosed her side.
