I'M GUNNA PICK UP THE PIECES
AND BUILD A LEGO HOUSE
›if things go wrong we can knock it down‹
Walk | Talk | Think
As she wandered around outside the dens, keeping a vigilant eye out for Voltage, Gaia, or any little pups that had to be their children, it never once occurred to Gale that someone might have been watching her. She was completely unaware, sure that she was the only one there and that the others had to be somewhere inside of their den where they liked to hide out. Though she had nothing to go off of as far as appearances went, she knew they would be little - the last pup she had accidentally happened upon had been pretty small too. Her family had a penchant for peculiar colors, all thanks to their colorful parents. Would they look like miniatures of her brother, maybe lighter colored if only because Gaia was?
Very little thought had been given before to what her nieces looked like, and because the subject had always left her feeling out of sorts she had never truly delved deeper into the matter before. As she continued to pace, she thought, trying without much success to envision what they might look like when suddenly a little streak of blue and white sprang out at her from the shadows, a high pitched voice crying out at her. Completely caught off guard and startled beyond what she had possibly been startled in years, Gale jumped. She felt tiny paws try to latch onto her foreleg and drew it away quickly as she leaped back, her heart hammering in her chest as she, too, cried out in a moment of candid panic.
The second she turned her head and her eyes landed on the tiny creature, looking like a proper little mischievous monster, Gale realized she had found what she had been looking for. Her chest ached from the scare, but her mind was quickly putting things together. This was definitely Voltage's. "Jeez, you just about scared the life right out of me," Gale stammered as she tried to calm her now ragged breathing. Only half in exaggeration, she lifted a foreleg and tucked her paw beside her chest, willing her heart rate to calm. Was this how it was going to be? Scares and starts from a bunch of kids that were just as energetic as her brother? What did he get us into?
Staring at the little pup, the look on Gale's face was a little uneasy. What did she say to her? She knew her parents, assumed they were close. She had every right to be here. The protocol Gale had used the last time she encountered a rogue pup could not be used now. "Which one are you?" she asked at length, feeling silly about needing to ask. What kind of aunt did not know her own nieces?
