Bones of our Ancestors

He'd been sitting in his den, somewhat broody and thinking about what his future might hold as the howl rang across the territory. Slowly, Zell lifted his head as he listened, noting the sense of urgency in the alphas voice. He'd been left in the dark, the gossip not quite reaching his ears but then again, why would anyone tell him? He wasn't exactly related to anyone here, so with deliberate slowness he rose and shook out his pelt.

Padding towards the gathering crowd, Zell said not a word to anyone let alone looked at anybody but Bass as he dipped his head. He took a seat away from the crowd, movements somewhat stiff. He still felt like an outsider here...and whether it changed or not was beyond him.
