Luck of the Draw

Dammit. Where had his brother run off to? Once again, he'd lost his brother, and there was no use in calling for him because he'd get no response. Maybe one of the others in the clan had seen him around...he be sure to ask Mith if he saw him. Trekking back across the sand towards his sandy beach den, Domino cursed under his breath. He looked out towards the water, feeling very grumpy and irritated. Had...had his brother maybe crossed the strip of land?
He himself had to admit, he was afraid to cross. He didn't know what was out there...the one who killed their parents didn't smell like he was from here...he was from across the sea. And that was a reason he didn't want to go. What if all those who lived on the other side were the same way? What if...what if they took his brother? No! Don't be stupid! He was just getting ahead of himself. Sighing, he sank into the sand, light blue gaze watching the water as the creatures of the deep did their daily things. Porpoises and dolphins leapt about, and manatees bobbed lazily around eating kelp. What a slow...peaceful...life.
