GOD MORGEN! - PACK HUNT!

Katja caught Inga's call, and swung about to leap through the herd, weaving among the panicking deer as she zeroed in upon the doe Inga had chosen. The others had gotten there before she had, youth and longer legs and simple proximity allowing them a greater speed. She plunged without hesitation into the cold water, teeth snapping at the doe's flank, seeking to open the beast's abdomen. The doe's hip smashed into the side of her muzzle as the deer surged desperately forward, but Katja's forward motion was only momentarily checked at the flash of pain before she was at Harekr's heels once more. Even as she reached for the deer again they were leaping from the water, but Kapra was ready. He buried his fangs into the deer's throat to tear it from her, bathing himself in blood and gore, and the deer went down thrashing. Katja stood back, satisfaction washing through her as the prey's struggles ceased. This doe would feed the pack, if only for a short time, and they would hunt again soon. It was a good kill. She raised her voice in a long, low song of thanksgiving, the howl drifting toward the sky and through the pack lands, celebrating the victory.
