Navigation: Fontamo Bay
Moonlight poured down gentle and delicate through the darkness, casting a pallid shine on the smooth rocks of Fontamo Bay. Swaddled in the otherwise black veil, a dark shape slithered, outlined only by the pale light that caught on its bony back. Soft and jumbled mumblings trickled from the beast’s lips as he walked, his head down and his pointed shoulders hunched. His gait was unusually fluid; he moved like a specter across the rocks. It was cold and he had gotten stuck outside, unable to find a proper place to hunker down before night fell. It was irritating. He was debating finding a nook, however minimal, somewhere in these rocks to curl up in, and would have given up and done so in the next minute had something not caught his attention.
A figure sat up ahead, similarly silhouetted by moonlight. It looked like a wolf – a warm body, he thought. How nice, it would be, to one day just burrow into someone’s flesh. How warm and snug. Unlike how he was feeling right now. The fiend slowed his pace a little, lifting his head to peer with pale eyes through the darkness. He licked his lips out of habit and ran his tongue over his teeth. A small, high croon hummed in his throat behind sealed lips. ”Hmmmmm.” Then he tested, ”Hell-oooo.” He went forward three more paces, long claws tapping decisively upon the ground with each step before he halted. He wondered not about what someone else was doing out here, alone at this hour of the night – only what they might offer him.
