He made a comment about him being stubborn and she snorted, her head shaking back and forth. Of course she didn't forget that he was stubborn, they often clashed that way. Both of them were very stubborn and even more so set in their ways, so when they disagreed on something they often fought it to the bitter end. "How could I ever forget?" she rumbled. But there was always ways around his stubborn nature, like being equally as stubborn, or just really convincing. Sere was glad to see that he was trying to smile, even if it failed miserably. It was something, an attempt. She was trying her best to warm him with her fire, like she always did, he was often getting burned by it and was used to the lapping of her flames. But it was what made him alive, right? What brought his own bright energy to the surface. His energy, his endless energy. Her ears flickered as he went on to explain that Glacier had been with him most of the time, and her head nodded stiffly. Of course he had been there physically, but there was a difference between being there and really, emotionally being there for the other. Being a shoulder to cry on, a word of good advice, or just a cuddle buddy. It wasn't enough to just physically be by someones side, especially not with Voltage. He needed more than just a sea of bodies around him. Her head lowered as a shuttering sigh left her lips when he spoke of the dreams, he was always such a vivid dreamer. Letting a whine slip free from her maw she stepped forward and nuzzled into his cheek, nibbling softly at his face to try and bring that tiny smile back. He couldn't sleep, couldn't eat. But there had to be something that she could do, anything. She could quite literally shove a paw down his throat and hold down his mouth until his body took it. But that was Serefina, she always did things to the extreme. Words of the family being gone made her flinch away from him slightly, it would seem that she wasn't the only one to wander away. Everyone was grieving someone who had left, and she was to blame for that. "I am so sorry Volt... I really am." she whined.

Serefina was glad that she had put up her paw to stop Volt from speaking, she saw his mouth open and then snap back closed. He always wanted to argue her points when she was being stubborn and going a bit overboard, but she really did need to get the whole thing off her chest. He needed to know why she left, if not for himself than for her to feel better about all of it. It was odd to hear it out loud, after ranting for so long in her head it was really the first time that it had come out. And she heard it. She heard how silly she was being, but... that was that. It was over and done with now, and there was no stopping it. Hell she had even come back in the dead of winter, right before she was about to find a nice den to sleep the season away. But Sere knew that Voltage needed her, she could feel it in her very soul. They had always been like that, as if they were one in the same. But there was a bit of a smile back on his face, and the tip of her tail swung slightly as she returned his grin. He told her that she would never be able to be replaced, and the woman nodded her fiery head slightly. She knew that, she did. She knew how crazy she was being but that was just who she was. Always over thinking, or not thinking at all. Acting on passion and flames, burning everything in her path before she was able to assess the damage she had done, or further damage she could still do. He whispered that he had missed her time and time again, and she pushed herself into her older brother and nuzzled into his soft fur. "I know Volt, I know. I was foolish, I can see that now. But I'm here now."

She talked about going and searching but Voltage closed the gap between them once more, telling her to not leave. It was too soon after she had gotten back, she didn't blame him for not wanting to watch her disappear again. "Well you know how much I hate to travel in the snow." She said with a soft laugh, kicking at the fluffy substance at her paws. She had hardly noticed it on her way here, or since she had seen Voltage. She had been so excited and so wrapped up in everything that it didn't cross her mind, until now. The cold was seeping into her bones and her paws were all wet. She shivered slightly, but it was mostly in disgust than anything else. He had said that he thought that he could sleep with her there, and she eagerly nodded her head. Anything to get out of the weather. "Should we head over to the storm proof den then? Chase out any pesky critters who think that they can claim our den?" Sere asked, her red tail flicking over to swat at his shoulder. She was getting tired of all this sad crap, she wanted to see some of that electricity back in his eyes. They were so dull, it broke her heart to see him this way. He just needed to rest, and then they could go out. She agreed to that, she had ran pretty far to get here so fast that she wouldn't mind taking a little nap herself. To be curled up with him again sounded magical.

When Sere saw him shake his head when she asked about Illume's energy, and she decided to drop the subject. There was no need to push this any further, to wrangle any more questions out of him. He had probably had enough of it by this point. He went on to speak about Current and her ears fell back against her skull. Mmm. "I might not have been the best aunt so far, but I can try and talk with her." She offered, a slight grumble in her voice. She wasn't sure how well it would go, and honestly was a bit afraid that she would make it worse. "I mean... I could take her out hunting or something. Or teach her how to fight?" she offered, more of a spark burning in her eyes at the thought of fighting again. It had been awhile since she had tested her luck against another wolf, and she was more than willing to stretch her muscles and get moving again. Besides, she couldn't really offer much more than that. Serefina wasn't really good at anything else. "Maybe a trip to the volcano, its been awhile since I have felt the warm rocks." Serefina hummed, her tail swishing behind her thoughtfully. Maybe it would take a bit of weight off of Volt as well, give him a bit of a break from worrying about his remaining daughter. After all, he already felt like he lost both of them. She wanted to do all she could for him, for her dearest Voltage.

And then it all changed when he brought up Astrea, and even when he got upset over her burning anger she didn't care. Stepping away from Voltage she began to pace in front of him, growls and curses leaving her maw as she fought to regain control. He told her not to call her that and she just snorted, kicking at the snow as she made a line in the slushy mud, not being able to stop her pacing. She didn't care that she insulted her younger sister, she was so mad that she would even dare to compare Volt to their parents. She didn't know, she had no idea what Voltage and Glacier had to deal with. He said that it was a good thing, in a way, and she turned and growled at him. "Its still not okay what she accused you of, without understanding. She claims to know all these things and be able to sympathize with everyone, but I call bullshit. That kid doesn't have enough life experience to even begin to understand!" Serefina snarled, her head tossing once more as she resumed her pacing. Maybe she should have held her tongue with the name calling, but it was Serefina after all. There was very little that she could ever hold back.
