song of the wild

These lands were... odd. Interesting, perhaps. It would be a good new home for her peoples, she felt... but not this specific land. It was too dry, too hot; it was the opposite of her desires. No, she desired the cold, the North. Only the North bred true, only the North bred strong. Anything else was weak. Even the strongest females of the South would likely be weaker than those born and bred in the North. It was, after all, the way of the world.
Still, she could not help but be fascinated by all lands. She had come here on a whim, seeking new lands. Her family, her pack, was outreaching their lands; they needed to expand, where there was nowhere to expand. That was her mission, her desire. To let Thalestris name be known across all lands... and perhaps feared. She wanted the strongest women, the strongest warriors - the strongest men, though they could never match her nor any sisters of hers.
First though, there were other priorities above her ambitions. She'd step to the lake, lapping at the water; it was cool on her dry throat, perhaps the first cool thing that she had encountered in days. She needed to find a wolf; she had found none since entering this land, and she needed a way out of the West. She did not know what direction she was heading - not at all .
