bittersweet memories

King and Queen. It sound strange coming out of his muzzle, being a canine that loved his freedom. It has been so long since he had been in an actually pack. In fact, the last pack he was in was his families pack back home. Yes, Mav did join small packs. But these were only temporarily, mostly to earn food or because he was mated with one of their females. And as each day went by and the more the male thought about it, it appealed to him more and more than Mavi ever thought it would. Sooner or later, Maverick will find his own Queen and they can have a family to call a pack. Someday….. The battled worn canine listened to her, warm digits never left her familiar duel colored gaze. Maverick’s expression softened as Surreal gave him a brief update of her life, but a little light inside him ignited at the sound of her mate being blinded. No, not because he hated the wolf. Mav has never met him before and he was sure if her mate ever did met Mav, the wolf would surely be chased off like ninety percent of mated males do when they see him was around their mate. The canine knew she had a mate and children, but something in him liked her. There was something that made him like her more than just a passing by she wolf. Not like a crush or, but more than a friend. Admire, maybe… Werid… “I see,” the ebony headed lupus replied, his husky tone lightened and once erected ripped ears turned back slightly, “Well… I am sorry to hear your mate had been blinded. I am sure it was for a worthy cause. But, your children must be proud of him as well as you. If this fight was so bad, he was lucky to only be blinded for life.” It was true.Mavi had been in his fair share of fights, almost being blinded himself. Twice. The proof was in his scars that marked his face. In fact, he has almost lost his life to a few fights. Although he was unable to feel any pain and proved to be an advantage, it was also very dangerous. Maverick was still trying to find a balance with this defect he had, having a hard time knowing when to quit. The young male tried to let a smile take over his expression, but a frown was hard to replace. Even when Surreal questions him about his own health, Maverick shrugged it off casually like it was the lease of his many concerns. “You know… The normal… Same old Maverick the loner….” A hearty chuckle rumbled his chest, but it came out more dysfunctional and broken than he planned. With a moment to think to himself, the lupus let a warm grin spread across his expression. “Where are you heading now? Are you going back to your family or just roaming around?” » tags: @surreal & open » notes: -rolls- |
