Au Claire de la Lune
It was a weird feeling to have her entire family around her. Some of them had found some nocks and crannies for privacy, but she could still hear the murmur of their voices, and of those closer to her she could hear the occasional light snore. Daddy was one of the worst for that, when he slept a certain way he sounded like a hurricane (or what she imagined a hurricane sounded like) and yet it wasn't a terrible or disturbing sound, it was oddly comforting and it meant she knew exactly where he was when she slept.
She wheedled her way ouit of her mothers side so she could sneak through the sleeping bodies of all her Aunt and Uncles (did everyone have so many aunties and uncles or was that a Donostrea thing?) she wanted to see the strange ocean thing that had eaten their beach. It was still dark, and it was hard to see much so perhaps it was the wrong time to decide that this is what she wanted to do and that she had to do it now. Oh well.
She was lucky to find Locha there, she would be less likely to get into trouble if she was with an Auntie. “Auntie, what are you looking at?” she asked as she settled onto the ground beside the woman, placing herself a step away so she wasn't brushing fur with the other woman.
