There was not so much anxiety anymore when it came to letting her daughters explore. They new the boundaries, and they knew mom and dad would know if they crossed those boundaries. Thankfully most days they seemed more interested in what was within their borders than out so the star spangled girl was able to have a quiet evening to herself. Mithras was going to collect them that night, and when she was ready they'd be in the den waiting for her to cuddle up with them. She'd smile at the thought, but it would be overtaken with a bit of sadness. Their cuddling days were coming to an end. Her babies were growing up fast and she hated it, she wanted them to be cute little fluffy balls of fur forever. She knew that wasn't the way the world worked though. These thoughts would occupy her mind as she lay comfortably on the new grass. Her brilliant blue form was perched up on a hill top, her eyes on the horizon as the sun started its descent beyond. It was quiet except for the sounds of crickets and slowly the fireflies would come out to light up where the sun had left. She found herself signing softly, tail flopping contentedly behind her as solitude made itself her friend. |
