There's A Fork In The Road

He had just returned from Abaven, his thoughts heavy about what had happened today. He had gone to visit his family, only to find that all but one remained. She had been abandoned, left behind like she was nothing more then a dog left at the pound because the owners just didn't want to deal with it. It pissed him off really, that his brother would do something so fucking stupid! And now, he had to be the one to clean up his brothers mess. Not that he would mind going to take care of and raise Quake...but the mere thought of his brothers irresponsibility, on top of that fact that it wasn't just once, but twice that he up and disappeared from his pack...well, he had a lot of explaining to do if he ever found him. And now, Kakashi had to deal with Marina. He wondered if she would understand...she had kids of her own too didn't she? Surely she would understand the position he was in. This could all be as painless as possible, but not for his brother. Nope.

He wandered the gulley in search of the alphess, his steps half hurried and half slow. He didn't want to seem eager to leave, but at the same time he didn't want to keep his niece waiting any longer then he had to. She was dependent on him now, and the last thing he wanted to do was let her down.
