Put 'em Up

Oh crap oh crap oh crap. Her attacks missed and Bass was raised above her. Vali would take a half step to the left (moving only her front paws, putting her at an acute angle with Bass - about 30 degrees. She lunge at the same time she , hind legs kicking powerfully to get out from underneath Bass. She lunged towards her left, her head and body emerging from under Bass  Her only thought was to get away from the much bigger male - something she barely succeeded as Bass thudded down on the ground. Thankfully, due to her lunge, the bear hug failed, his jaws snapped shut on thin air.

She'd reset her defenses rapidly, fur fluffing up, eyes narrowing, ears flattening, her lips peeling in a snarl to protect her gums and bare her teeth, her shoulders rolled forward to scrunch her neck, her chin tucked, her legs spread evenly apart, her knees bent, her tail flagged behind her for balance, her paws splayed, and her toes dug into the ground.

She wasn't sure she had enough time to attack, though. She'd attempt to spin, though, hind legs shuffling as her front paws moved to spring her around to her left a full 180 degrees. She'd try to sink her jaws into Bass' side, her upper jaws seeking the upper part of his upper rib cage (upper rib cage, near the spine), her lower jaws seeking two and a half inches directly below that. She'd attempt to scrape her jaws painfully across his ribs, in hopes of decently severe damage and to hinder him. It was all she had time for, too.

Okay, yeah, maybe she had to work on her fighting a bit. It appeared she was... rusty.
