On Death and Dying
It was when Finch stopped flailing that Lillianna froze and whipped her head around, Ash discarded as quickly and easily as Sparrow. Panic fluttered in her chest even as she slid down, her ear flicking towards the girl's nose and mouth, hoping, praying for a breath - and there it was. It was so soft, a bare flutter on the fur of her ear.. but it was there. Relief - so strong it was nearly palpable, surged through her, and she'd slide of the girl, limbs shaking. She'd hear the chirp, and she'd see Civetta - the bird lost Finch, and felt terrible. But... Starling was there, offering comfort. Just as Starling had been there to save Finch. She'd stumble towards the healer, body shaking, pausing a few feet away as Starling sat and spoke to Sparrow, and to Kakashi. She paid no mind to the other wolves, simply focusing on Star. Her eyes would be as wide as his when he lifted his head to look at her, and green would meet blue. She stepped forward slowly, to sit heavily next to Starling, her weight leaning on him if he allowed it. A ragged whisper - it was all she was capable of - came from her. "You did it. I told you so." Her voice was scratchy, but... it was there.
