It was all to easy to see. Perhaps that was why he didn't like kids that much, or why he didn't really talk to them. Offering support and help to the younger ones was something else, he was an adult after all. A much older adult at that. He carefully walked towards the pack with Finch on his back, Quake keeping in step beside him as she occasionally checked on the girl to make sure she was breathing. His eyes rolled when the strangled howl of the girls sister went out, then another howl by the red girl who was crying her eyes out. Kids... The note in the second howl was not missed. And all he could think was that so far, they were acting childish save for the healer boy. He would keep comments to himself, however. But it made him reluctant to respect the pair that were silently going at it for whatever reasons they had.
Following after Starling, he stopped when he reached the inside of the borders, crimson gaze lifting to find Lark coming towards them. The man would remain silent for now, waiting to see how the yearlings would handle this before he said anything. For now, he stood there with the girl draped across his back. She was still breathing, so that was a good sign at least. |
