Kait was still in shock over what had happened. She had lost her mother, the wolf who meant most to her. The femme would let out a soft sigh, her ears flicked back as she gazed across the Gulley. She kept hoping, praying, that her mother would pop up again at some point. But it was a pointless prayer. Her mother was not coming back, not any time soon, and the child was going to have accept that fact sooner or later. It was a simple fact that she was going to be forced to grow up.

Kaitlyn spent most of her time in their mother’s den. She was in denial. She kept thinking to herself if she just believed then eventually Marina was going to come back. But the days kept passing, and the child found herself growing more and more worried. She would glance back towards the den that she lay half in, half out of. Was.... Was Marina gone forever?

A sigh passed her lips as Kait lay her head on her paws. She couldn’t believe that this was happening. It made her feel sick inside. Green eyes would slide closed, and she gave a soft whimper. “Won’t you please come home?”
