Angelus vs Felix

His opponent seemed like the thoughtful type and took his time in preparing. Angelus wasn't sure if it was a ruse that would end suddenly in a sneak attack or what, but he thought it best to be prepared so he quickly set his defenses. He started with the "base" things; widening his stance so that his paws were placed just slightly over shoulder and hip width apart, bending his knees just enough to add a looseness to his joints while still retaining his huge height advantage, splaying his toes and digging his nails into the dirt for added traction and stability. His tail rose to lay on the same plane as his spine to aid his balance. Angelus kept his head up but tucked his chin and rolled his shoulders forward so that he presented a solid, unmovable front to his opponent; he wasn't afraid of taking a hit. His ears folded back and his eyes narrowed as his lips curled not to show off his teeth but to bunch the skin across his muzzle and around his eyes. Lastly he stiffened, tensing all over in preparation of the coming strike. Usually he was one to jump forward and meet his opponent in the middle, but this time he wanted to try something different. Instead of launching himself at Felix as the smaller man began to move towards him, Angelus waited. He stood rigid and unmoving, and given the size difference he had no doubt it would be like running into a tree. Hopefully by remaining still he would passively deal more harm than he received. He had only one preparation to make and that was coiling his back legs so that his hips were closer to the ground than his shoulders and his body was held at a slight incline. Doing this took a good chunk of his weight off his forelegs. Felix's left shoulder blade slammed into Angel's right foreleg. The brute offered no real resistance and allowed the move to snap his foreleg back towards his belly. Doing so allowed a great deal of the force to be distributed through the rest of his body. His hind paws skidded back a fraction of an inch or two and the recoil was easily seen rolling down his body in a single ripple, but no real harm was done. A mild bruise would later form along the upper portion of Angelus' right foreleg. In an instant he was using his coiled hind legs to rise up and lift his forelegs off the ground. Angelus was hoping to use their close proximity to his advantage. He intended to slam the lower portion of his right shoulder and the lower right side of his chest into the left side of his opponent's chest and left shoulder. The angle with which he was rising coupled with his superior size would hopefully lift his opponent's forelegs off the ground and upset his balance. In that instant he felt pain flare up his neck as Felix's bite landed. With Angel rising up on his hind legs it missed its mark and instead landed high on Angel's chest. Felix's teeth dug into the thin skin and muscle directly over top Angel's bony prosternum, the bite wound nearly centered from side to side. The damage was moderate, but far from damning. Angel sought to wrap his forelegs around Felix's neck just below his jawline with the intention of dragging him in closer than he already was and smothering him in an aggressive bear hug. The move would greatly restrict Felix's movements and leave him nearly powerless in Angelus' grip. The Ultimus intended to wrap his left foreleg around the right side of Felix's neck and hook his left forepaw around behind the smaller man's neck directly beneath the base of his skull. His right foreleg, while certainly not impossible, was a little trickier because of Felix's off-center positioning. To make it work he'd have to stretch it out to his right a little bit and then bring it back in towards his left in an uncomfortable arc around the left side of Felix's neck. He intended to lay his right forepaw directly beneath his left one on the back of Felix's neck. Together his paws would hopefully create an inescapable grip that would hold Felix in place. With splayed jaws Angelus sought to bite down on the back of his opponent's neck. He hoped to sink his upper teeth into the left side of Felix's neck just below the base of his skull and right behind his left ear while placing his lower teeth directly across from his upper ones on the right side of Felix's neck. The placement of his lower teeth would hopefully mirror the placement of his upper teeth. Angelus sought a grip that give him control of his opponent's head.
