I need help

It was not the first time since Finch had been found that one of her brother's children had come to her. She could not shake her conversation with Sparrow from her mind, and now here was Starling's voice with tears in his voice asking for help. She wriggled out without hesitation, automatically examining him for injury or sickness as she emerged from the den. There was no blood-scent, no sickness-scent, or any obvious injuries, but he looked exhausted. She immediately curled around him, seeking to hug him softly to her smaller form. "Starling, dear, what can I do for you?" she asked him gently. He had been absent from the pack and from his family for some time - when was the last time she'd seen him? He had been at the meeting when Bass had told them Finch was missing, but before that, when had she seen him last? The siege - he'd left the healers and not returned to the pack after. She wondered if his need for help now had to do with his distress over Finch, or if there was more to it. They were all pretty upset over the state Finch had been in - frankly she was surprised that Starling was the only wolf who'd come to her after. Most of the wolves who'd found her were quite young, not yet seasoned against the shock seeing someone you cared for so ill. It would be the stuff of nightmares for even an experienced healer, let alone some of the untried youths who'd been there.
