Caught in the Flames

He... hadn't had the guts yet to tell Nixie what happened. She was so frail, mentally, emotionally, and physically. At least, she was in Ren's mind. She hadn't really been introduced to that dark void that existed. Perhaps that was the reason he hadn't left his den today, laying curled up forlornly. Where was Kaitlyn? Where was his mother? He had to send out a search party, but what wolves? More like, he had to visit the other alphas and inquire, set them on the lookout.


He signed, eyes closing. He felt so drained. Was he supposed to? Was this what being an alpha was like? His musings were interrupted when a voice peeped from outside the den, and the yearling lifted his head, blinking rapidly. Breathing in deeply, he knew it was Nixie. Not that he needed her scent; he recognized her voice easily enough. He wiggled forrward, scooting out of the den until he was near Nixie, and hat was when the much larger male would lean his head down and lick his sister between the ears affectionately. "Nixie. How have you been, dear sister?" He needed to pay more heed to his sister that was still around.
