Sad But True

This was fantastic fun indeed. She returned Ullr's grin when he scrambled onto shore with his catch firmly clamped and dangling in his jaws. So he was good at catching frogs! She'd never met someone so interested in hunting weird critters and exploring new territory like she was. Once they'd gulped down their slippery snacks, Ullr would offer her first pick of directions for a little adventure around the pond and willows. Oh, where did they start? With a somewhat childish glint of excitement in her eyes, she would look around, first to her left, then to her right, and she would decide upon the latter. There seemed to be deeper foliage to her right, and for whatever peculiar reason, that appealed to her. "Let's go this way, then!" she suggested, giving her ebony coat a good shake to remove the excess water. Springing to her paws enthusiastically, she bounded away, leaving the edge of the pond, though she was sure they would come to the water's shore again. Long willow tendrils brushed the tips of her ears as she pranced beneath the trees, her eyes scanning her surroundings to take in every detail - this place was home now, and she knew one day she would know every twist and turn. Slowing her stride just a little, she looked over her shoulder to see if her new friend was following, and wondering what direction he'd like to take next. |
