You know it will always just be me

This place felt so familiar. As he made his way through the littered landscape, his expression grew thoughtful while he examined his surroundings. He had been here before... hadn't he? His ears flicked uncertainly and a sigh passed his lips. He remembered Alacritis. Well... He remembered it vaguely. There were clips and pieces of memories that flicked through his mind of his parents and siblings here. That had to have been years ago though, hadn't it? He was a pup in those memories. He still hadn't quite pieced together how old he was now, but he knew he was far from a pup. That much was obvious.
He padded slowly, pausing occasionally to turn something over with his paw to look at it more closely. All of the things here were strange and foreign, but interesting all the same. They gave him something to look at while he dug through his broken and missing memories. How did he get to the places he remembered? He had nothing to give him a relative direction to go in. Nothing he had seen so far had struck a chord in his memory to tell him he was going in the right direction. He sighed again and lifted his gaze. He had been trying to remember his siblings names... Odette... Oracle... He was pretty sure those were his litter mates. He had older siblings though... It felt like it was on the tip of his tongue... Suddenly a sent reached him that made something click in his head. His ears perked and he quickly glanced around him, desperately trying to find the source. Av... Avalon?" he called with a moment of uncertainty. Was that right? Was he imagining things?
