Where - where was everyone? Wisper, Ember, Daddy, Momma, Uncle Glacier, Aunt Locha and Serefina - t-they were all gone! She couldn't smell anyone, no one on pack lands... where did they all go? Her eyes teared up as she whined, long and loud - why did they leave? Hunger pinched at her belly; when was the last time she ate? A while - she knew that much. She was so hungry and she wanted her brothers and her parents but they all just disappeared. Why? Why were they gone? A cry built up in her throat, and she released it in a wobbling sob, curling in on her body. Why? Why did they all leave? |
