It all felt so surreal. How she'd searched for her family for so long, and lately it felt like they were coming out of the wood work as if they'd been here all along. A smile formed when he confirmed it was truly him, her tail wagging when he laughed. Oh how she missed his voice! "I can't believe it either!" She replied almost in a whisper. He closed the distance between them, and the woman pressed her face into his fur. She took in his scent, breathing it in deeply to refresh what she had held onto all these years.
As the two became familiar with one another again, she laughed before doing a little hop back and then lurching forward to tackle him in a hug. "I thought I'd never see you again! I've missed you so much! A lot has happened since you've been gone, and I thought I was the only one left after mom and dad disappeared...our brothers and sisters are gone too, you haven't seen any of them have you?" Either way, he was here at least. And as she wrapped her arms around his neck, she pressed her face into his neck, afraid to let go and have him disappear again. |
