She had been patrolling the woods, trying to get her head around her secondary alpha position. What was she meant to do? Was there anything important she was meant to be doing right now? Patrolling the borders seemed important enough. Was she to just go with the flow and figure it out for herself? What about talking with her packmates and seeing how she could improve Myriad? Organising meetings? Trainings? Changing ranks? Argh. Perhaps she wasn't cut for being a leader after all.
As she padded through the trees, inhaling the cold autumn air, she uncovered the scent of a girl not too far away. Did this scent belong to one of Myriad's members or a rogue? Curious, she picked up her pace as she followed the scent, winding her way through the woods. Through the foliage she caught a glimpse of a dark-coated pup, sniffing around the border, and behind her, an older ebony man. Definitely not one of her packmates. Why were they here? Did they wish to join Myriad? Was she to just let them in? Oh Riv, if only you were here right now.
Stepping out from the trees, trying to remain calmly confident in her posture and gait, she halted by the border, looking the two strangers dead in the eye. "You are on Myriad's borders," she told them, her slightly shaky voice neither welcoming nor hostile. Cocking her head to the side, she inquired, "What is it that you seek?
