Smoldering Remains

The suffocating silence was overwhelming. He was growing ancy with the hostile forest - what was left of it anyhow - he failed to keep his nervousness hidden, his constant shifting in the ash emerged floor underneath him, crimson orbs focusing this way and that, somewhat paranoid that someone, or something was lurking, watching him with an eerie interest. The man?s muscles, felt thoroughly exhausted, he could feel them ache beneath his nearly ivory pelt, his body craved a long, well deserved rest for the time being. However, he was reluctant to do so, as this place surely wasn?t of the most fitting to be so relaxed, so careless, besides, he may have gotten himself lost again, if he removed himself form this spot, he expected that he would be stepping more into the best?s belly. Truly a stranger in a strange world. A mild huff slipped through his parted jaws, leaning every so slightly to rest his head against the remains of the seared tree, the surface was smoother than he would have guessed, the scent of scorned wood even more potent here, though it was much better than breathing in the sea of ashes. Perhaps, he should stay just as this? Awaiting for the moon to finally descend with it?s gloomy rein finally over, then, allow himself to rest underneath the protective, and warm glow of the sun? It seemed like a worthy idea to him.
Rain would fell so much better right now. Even with the present of the full pale moon, a cooling down pour of fresh liquid sounded so much more appealing than this, he was beginning to realize that his mouth was growing dry, the grains of sot must of managed to slip their way inside somehow, Crimzen was beginning to taste the disgusting scent of burnt grass, and other sources of what lurked inside the crowded arena of the tall, darkened, trees. Whatever the place was called surely deserved it, the place gave him the chills, not as much as other places he?d come across riddled with bones, and horrifying smells. To his relief, the specks in the drifting in the air, he could only smell the ever lingering burning scent, he?d feel very much sick to his stomach if he managed to pick up any decaying aromas.
The sudden sound of distant voice startled him, quickly raising his skull, tracing the ghostly forestry for the source, at first, he thought he was imagining things, maybe his dismissal of sleep was effecting his senses more quicker than he thought, the words carried some distance, his ears flicked with wondering what could be amiss, the familiar rhythm of sharp hooves slamming against the earth in a hurried pace buzzed around him. A hunt? This late? Strange, but, not uncommon perhaps if he was lucky the group would be a newly paired couple, who would be generous to leave him enough to suffice for some time. His insides grumbled at the thought, he lost count when he?d last devoured deer meat, the taste of hare, and rodents, had a dull flavor, he would enjoy spicing it up a bit.
His voice had erupted for the darkness again, it still held it?s high pitch, he was surprised that the welcoming word was directed towards him, so his earlier exchanged words where directed towards the herd? Or was he at a disagreement with someone he just couldn?t smell? Whichever the case, he was glad to finally be aware that he wasn?t the only wondering soul out on a stroll this late. His crimson gazed fixed on the wonder, his eyes stood out most than his charcoal coat, they where white, foggy, almost like frost, yet, very close to the tone of the moon's surface. Though, he didn't seem to be at a disarray than he was, the stranger was more relaxed than he, was he more familiar with this area? He'd find out soon enough, if he appeared to me more of an open book as he was leading on.
"Hey." He replies, with a warm smile stretching across his maw, it had been so long since he had spoken to another, he wondered how he should follow up on the greeting to avoid an awkward silence, right, conversations. "Um..are you lost too?" Crimzen inquires the more smaller male, in hopes of getting more of idea of this character.
"Speech"
