Runa wandered along in her sisters' pawsteps, happily blinking at the blue snow-flowers that nodded their heads and giggled as the young wolves passed them. It was a pity that her sisters couldn't see them, but the gods gave different gifts to all wolves. Asvor, for instance, was far more bold and mischievous than her or Naudir, and Runa was quite content to follow along with her plans. It was certainly never dull.

Asvor finally stopped as though she had reached a wall, and Runa sniffed at the air. Yes, there was the border scent, as clear to her as a bright line running through the snow. Could Asvor see it too? Was that why she had stopped clear of it? It was not Yfir's border - they had passed that already, and crossed the no-wolf zone between the packs to find another scent border, so this must be a new pack. She peered curiously at the pines while her sisters spoke. "Enemies," she finally spoke up sagely at the question, blinking between the other two with a distant smile and unfocused gaze. "They must be, mustn't they? Because they are not Yfir."

She didn't sound at all concerned by the idea as she posed it, because she really wasn't. What did she have to be worried about, after all? Certainly even if it had occurred to her that they were three pups alone on the edge of enemy territory she still would not have worried, for were they not the children of Odin? The blood of the highest among the Aesir ran through their veins, and no enemy of Yfir's could lay claim to such godhood. So instead she amused herself by gently batting at the softly glowing wisp that darted around her paw.
