Artemis was really, really lost. Like, she had no idea what was even going on anymore. The world stopped making sense a while ago, and she had no idea where her parents were. That was the big problem. The tiny problem was the fact that she'd lost her siblings, unlike her pack, which she'd lost moons ago. Luckily she was a little less panicked about this new problem. She sat and waited, ears perked and gargantuan blue form sprawled out on the ground. She sat atop the ridge that overlooked the crater-like basin below her, it's tall grasses flattened by snow and otherwise brought low by winter's chill. She hoped she was clearly visible should her siblings be trying to find her.

Also, she was hungry. Sure she was hoping to be found but she was also keeping a sharp eye out for something to eat. She was no pro but she tried when she could to use her size to provide for her siblings as best as she could. She was far away the largest among them and she had adopted something of a protective mindset, though whether or not they would agree was up for debate. She paid it no mind. She had spotted the tracks and sign of a herd of mule deer. It was a good time for wolves, she'd come to understand. There were yet many bucks at the tail end of the mating season who had been weakened by autumn's battles. Yearling does lacked the experience of their mothers but finally had gained enough weight to feed them all for at least a day or two, if only they could catch them. That was the tricky part. She sighed and scanned the horizon, hoping to catch sight of her siblings or deer or something to break her our of this lonely, fearful boredom.
