The moor's fog was a thick blanket around Marleen, it's chilly lack of transparency akin to her own mood. From a distance, Marleen traveled towards the same coordinates as the stranger Ilynra, the distance closing the closer she got, and the closer she became to Ilynra. Soon Marleen was walking parallel to the girl, within talking distance, but Marleen's focus remained strictly ahead, as unblinking and unwavering as a final resting place.
A voice ahead sounded an inquiry about the unfavorable weather, and Marleen was not startled. Then, the voice of Ilynra so close to Marleen ringing true and clear, but still Marleen was as unreactive as a noble gas. If Ilyrna had stopped, Marleen stopped too, purposefully but without effort so that their distance would be side-by-side, as if Marleen were some sort of odd shadow, perhaps Ilyrna's much smaller, much detached lack of conscience.
"I am more interested in your golden snack. I'll let you shelter in my snatch for your lunch. ", her voice was as unexpressive as her blank, blinkless face. Then her voice changed to something lilty and questioning, her head tilting all the way to one side, so far that it looked like her head dangled unnaturally from her neck, which looked even odder given Marleen's mostly lack of a neck at all thanks to her mother's decisions in what was best for breeding stud material. "It is damp here but hardly cold. How can you expect to survive the rest of the winter if you are cold now and your dinner runs amok outside your belly?", the words held no insult, just a complete lack of comprehension on what a pet was and did, as if a cloud asking the meaning of something that would never affect it, such as the stars galaxies away.
