Square Up [Fight Training]

Gryphon's cold - seemingly brought on by the melting snow of spring and settling in his chest for longer than he'd been able to tolerate. He'd spent quite enough of his life sick, and was very much chafing at the sudden illness that had struck him just as it was finally getting to be the sort of temperature he could enjoy being out in. But now, finally, finally, the last remnants of his cold were clearing up as well just in time for the start of summer. He'd missed a meeting, but he counted himself lucky to have considering what had happened at the last one. He didn't want to get chewed out for his brothers' behavior again, nor did he want to be thrown together with the replacement pups that would surely cause extra strife. Now that he was getting better, though, he'd been traversing the territories just outside Ivalice again, this time with a great deal better cheer. The way he figured it, the pups were probably still too young to be allowed out of the pack lands so he wouldn't have to run into them and deal with that whole maggoty situation, and he could recreate the caches of treasures that he'd had to abandon when they'd moved from Imperium nearly a year ago.
Today, though, he would have to put his plans on hold, and it turned out to be a good thing he'd been working on strengthening his youthful body again. His mother's voice rose over the pack lands, calling everyone together for - not a meeting this time - but training. The surprise awoke a gleam in his pine-green eyes, and he set out quickly for where his mother's voice had come. He was surprised to see he was the first there, considering his track record for showing up late or not at all. "Good morning, mother," he greeted with a bob of his head as he glanced curiously around the clearing. He couldn't remember this area being quite this... clean? She must have worked for a while at clearing it out prior to calling them. Why? Well, he supposed the obvious answer would be so they weren't tripping over sticks when they were supposed to be practicing, which made for an amusing picture in his head. He sat a polite distance in front of the alpha, his young body practically quivering with eagerness for his first training session.
