As Life Passes By
Dart made his way down the bank of the river, searching for a spot where he might be able to catch some fish. The river had gotten pretty shallow this season, and no doubt it would be a very dry one too. With the morning sun at his back, mismatched paws carried him low to the ground as he was careful where he put each paw. The rapids were not kind to those who fell victim to it, and he would do well to keep his wits about him.
It didn't take long for him to find a good, shallow spot where the water ran smoothly. He settled himself on the rock shelf, his shadow falling slightly over the water as he looked down. Unsurprisingly, he had chosen the perfect spot. Fish swam lazily below him, small and large alike. Occasionally, one would even swim to the surface looking for bugs. Now, all he had to do was sit and wait for the perfect moment.
