I'm Hopeful, Yet Terrified

I SEE ANOTHER MOUNTAIN TO CLIMB BUT I GOT STAMINA
The girls seemed nervous and Karabela smiled gently in what she hoped was an encouraging manner. She knew her size could be a bit off-putting and her tendency to carry battle wounds certainly didn't help soften her image. Though she also supposed it could just be the fact that she was now a 'leader' in a position of power and that was certainly an odd thing to contemplate for Karabela who had spent so much of her time as a foot soldier. Being an alpha was definitely going to take some getting used to.
I want to know if I will still be accepted and given the chance to prove my worth even though I am so far behind in learning what I need to survive
Karabela nodded as the girl spoke and let her continue on despite the urge to jump in and say of course she'd still be accepted. She already had a mentor and Raba believed in the value of a wolf's potential and nature. She didn't need everyone sculpted into a perfect roll right off the bat. As Delaney spoke Raba's thoughts drifted lightly to her niece Dagmær. The girl was about Delaney's age and in a similar situation in that she still had so much to learn but due to being separated from her family and eventually her pack she still had some catching up to do. Though Dag had at least had Imperium's guiding hand for awhile.
"I appreciate your honesty Delany and don't fret. Skills are indeed valuable but a wolf's character and drive can be more important. Skills can be learned and I feel you have the will and the mind to do it. As such I would love to accept you as an Apprentice in Ivory Ridge. As an apprentice you can focus wholly on learning the skills you need for your desired field. I take it you wish to study healing under Qualm?"
"Speech"
I'll take my throne, lay it on a mountain and make myself a king
