This Is Bad

His heart leaped into his throat as he examined Pontifex's face and mannerisms. He seemed distraught and worried, which only served to elicit the same emotional responses in the King. His tail flicked idly as his ears remained tucked back, only swiveling forward when the esquire spoke up. A seracian woman was being ambushed and he had come back to alert the rest of the pack. Elphaba came out of nowhere and asked if Pontifex could take them to the place. Gerhardt interjected. "Wait." With a glance at the woman and then back to Pontifex, he posed a question. "What fate befell the woman? And did you smell any packs on the attackers?" It was necessary to get all of the facts before springing into action - even though hesitation could possibly not be the best alternative either. If these were pack wolves this could be a plot to get the King away from the territory - or worse. If they were rogues, they probably just didn't know any better.
