This Is Bad

Elphaba fell utterly still and silent as Gerhardt cut her impulsive request off. her head dipped, her tail coiled between her hind legs, the tip flickering outward. Submissive, obedient she allowed the anger she felt to bubble unnoticed beneath the surface. Not a sound would escape her maw, not a grunt, not a breath. She awaited silently for the King to gather his information and to await her orders. She would not interfere a second time, but if he left, Elphaba would be damned before she stayed behind. He would not go alone and she would see too his safety. On tense muscles she awaited his command.
