She licked her lips as he proclaimed that is return was nothing to make a fuss over. Azalea let him continue, not breaking in to say that she really wanted to tell her parents but couldn't unless she was planning on running all the way to Glaciem, and honestly, his return wasn't that important.

"I noticed the new change. I could smell the new scent markers. Chrysanthe is our aunt is she not, and Epiphron as well? Their names sound familiar but I can't quite place them. As far as father giving up the crown, do you know why he did so? It's fine if you don't, I can always find out later. But our parents will be back right? They aren't staying in Glaciem long I hope. But who's Icarus? I don't remember ever hearing about him. Why was grandfather going to give the power to some random stranger? He could've run Valhalla straight into the ground for pete's sake!" She nodded to his first questions, the easy ones. Her brother's words set her ill at ease, and it showed in the way she shifted her weight uncomfortably and looked away from him. "Cairo has never led Valhalla wrong. He knew what he was doing."

It was all she said, her lips tight.

"Syrinx is our uncle, yes? I remember hearing about him, but I don't remember if I ever met him. Never liked him from what I've heard about him. I'm glad Chrysanthe was able to beat him. She is much more worthy of holding the title of alpha than he is. And speaking of titles, I think congratulations is in order little sister. I'm glad to hear that you have been named heir. It suits you." Honestly she didn't feel Gael had the right to just show up after being gone for so long and judge things with one blow like he was. He hardly even knew their family and yet he chose sides quickly. Sure, Azalea was happy that Syrinx had not won but she understood his wanting to step in and bring some stability to their pack at the time when it was most unstable. No doubt he would have but his lead surely wouldn't have been the sort they needed.

In the end Valhalla was a fragile place, full of wolves who needed love and support not military guidelines.

Her throat sank to the pit of her stomach when Syrinx appeared. He moved with purpose, eyes on Gael. Clearly he had overheard too much for her brother's own good. "You've been gone near 9 months and yet you see me not fit to rule? Interesting..." She frowned.

Given recent events it was safe to say the Azalea did not trust her uncle. She understood Chrysanthe taking no action against him but it was hard to be around a wolf who, for all she knew, could attack anyone for any minor grievance. Her uncle sat, showing that he would be staying for a while.

Azalea sat too, sighing lightly and as muffled as possible so that it was only a whisper. "Chrysanthe didn't beat me. I stopped the challenge when I watched my father have a heart attack," this was true. It was hard to forget that gut wrenching moment.

"When my father passes, I still become the patriarch of our family, I will still lead us to greatness. Chrysanthe rules well, just as I would have, don't be so quick to speak young one," Azalea looked at him with a raised brow. Why did the males in her family think it was so great to keep the family name afloat? Of course should she wed in the future, she would proudly take the name of her husband should she be her true love. Adravendi was just an extra to her name, Azalea was the only part of real significant meaning to her.

"So what will you do now, Syrinx?" She bit her tongue, refraining from prodding on a fight. There was no way she could fight him and she wouldn't have Gael trying to assist her.
