Of Dark Days and Parting Ways
Regulus Anatolii Adravendi |
Regulus trudged forward, nodding to Faite to follow as he pulled the travois with its grim contents behind him. "Let's... let's get started. I'd call the pack to the funeral, but I'm not... I'm not ready to see everyone yet. I think we'll hold the ceremonies after the burial. Give us all a chance to take a moment to breathe and grieve before telling the pack." He swallowed, but there was already a darkened trail of fur over his cheeks, the shell cracking a little before he gained control.
He would call the rest of their inner family once they were to the site, but he needed, longed, for some kind of normalcy while they made their way there, so he cleared his throat, grasping at whatever control he could as he asked, "So... what all happened while we were gone? Fill me in, please. I need to hear some kind of normal talk... How've our siblings been? Kav and Creed's kids?" How badly had the kids taken their mother being gone for so long?
His ear remained canted toward her, fairly begging to hear what she had to tell him. Anything to keep his mind off of the grim reality of family loss, even if only for a few minutes.
