Searching for guidance

The wolf settled down before her, and she shifted in her own seated position, impatient for his answer. His words cooled her excitement, and her ears sagged against her skull. For just a moment, for a wonderful, brilliant, moment, she thought she had found the breakthrough she had been looking for. Of course it was asking too much, she should have realised it was too good to be true. Her family was simply... gone. No one had seen a trace of them. “That's okay at least you knew them” she smiled tentatively, and her ears perked up a little. Even if he couldn't lead her to her family, he was still a familiar face, a small piece of her lost past. “I... no, I've learned a little about protecting myself on the go, but I've never learned any proper forms” she admitted, wonderfing if he would daunted at the idea of starting from scratch with her. She wanted this man to teach her more now then she had before. She wanted to keep him in her life, this reminder, this wolf who had known her father. It made him feel like a sweet grandfatherly figure, and she didn't want to let that go now that she had found him.
