Night wasn't used to wandering around so much, but they just didn't want to be home right now. It reminded them far too much of the memory that was fresh in their mind. They remembered the stories that their father told them of the gods and where they go after they die. Was Quelt there now? Was their mother at least happy? Night didn't know, pacing with their muddied paws in the mangrove. It wasn't too bad but for a pup like them it left the mud thick across their paws.
What were they supposed to do now, learn to fight so that this never happened again? After all, whatever hurt their parents they didn't like the thought of it returning to harm more wolves. Night found themselves thinking too much, pacing back and forth without a care. Not unless something around them disturbed Night. |
