Lark wouldn't deny that he felt bad about her getting hurt. He wasn't necessarily the most thoughtful of creatures, and he certainly wasn't the kindest - but he was far from malicious, and truth be told he did care about Lillianna, as angry as he was with her too. He would never hope for her to get hurt. Hearing that she had been injured had been a bit of a relief though - that meant she hadn't simply run off because she felt like it. At least there had been a reason. Why Vali hadn't returned to let them know, though, was beyond him. And why she'd tried to take down such an animal on her own..

He tried not to shake his head as she fought for what to say. She seemed visibly tormented, and he let her wallow in it for a long moment as he watched her unblinkingly, falling into his own confused thoughts. It took a long while before she spoke, her voice soft and uncertain as she choked out a single word. He dropped his gaze, eyeing his own paws momentarily before glancing back up at her as she finished her thought.

She'd missed him? Why hadn't she.. found some way to let them know she hadn't abandoned them? Lark couldn't imagine being injured and tending to his wounds in some far-away land. He'd come dragging himself to Abaven, battered and bleeding before letting his family think that he had left them of his own accord. But Lark was a different wolf than Lillianna.. she didn't have a father here, nor did she have siblings here. His eyes closed for a moment, feeling his blood pounding in his head.

He cleared his throat after a long moment of silence, sea-green eyes searching for her own. "I miss you too," he said finally, though a bit somberly too, his voice tinged with frustration still - but he felt his chest sink and felt much of the anger he'd held there fall away with the admission. "I was sure you weren't coming back."
